Great team and fun place to work.
Retail Sales Assistant (Current Employee) –  Letterkenny, County Donegal2 May 2017
You interact with customers everyday and help them with any inquires. Each day I had to deal with deliveries coming in and ensuring stock was put on the floor. Also had to manage cash registers and handling money. Made sure area was well maintained and that stock was tidy and clearly priced.
Had good interaction with managers and would work together ensuing best layout for stock, customer service, etc.
Workplace was a fun environment.
Hardest part of the day was ensuring stock was out and maintaining the areas.
Most enjoyable part of the day was dealing with the customers and being able to help them with their purchases.
Pros
Good environment to work in
Cons
long hours

It was a great experience to be a part of Pennys
Sales Assistant (Former Employee) –  Patrick St. Cork23 March 2017
Being part of Pennys for nearly 2 years it was a brilliant experience. I learned a lot of things like being more independent. it has less supervision so you need to use your own initiative in your section assigned like checking on the floor which one needs to be replenished and check also in the stock room if there were items not displayed. Displays the new collection on the very front in all sizes.

Friendly environment and hardworking staff.
Sales Assistant (Former Employee) –  Dublin18 January 2017
Working in Penneys usually consisted of re-stocking shelves and making sure my department given is clean , tidy and looking respectable for the customer. Helping the customers with finding products or clothing items or any problems they may have. In Penneys I learned how to work on tills , how to use a stock room and the right way to handle stock , how to put stock away on floor and how to keep the floor safe and comfortable for the costumer , the main thing i learned while working in Penneys is brilliant customer service skills and a positive attitude towards working and the customer. Management in Penneys was good , everyone was treated fairly spoken to nicely and communication between the managers and floor staff was very good. Theres a brillaint sense of team work in Penneys and all the co-workers got on very well and had no problem helping each other out. The hardest part of working in Penneys was dealing with the overwhelming crowds during the Christmas months this got easier though as i got used to it. The most enjoyable part if working in Penneys was being able to work with such a nice team of people that are very helpful and caring.
Pros
Good wage, a helpful company to work for.
Cons
Big crowds, long hours, a lot of stock to stack.

Great supportive environment
Retail Assistant (Former Employee) –  Galway4 January 2017
Penneys was a wonderful place to work with great staff and management alike. A typical day at work was always exciting and fast-paced but also fun and enjoyable. I learned how to work in a team, great customer service skills and how to think on my feet. Management and co-workers were always supportive and on hand to offer advice and help. It was such a friendly environment to work in and there was a great relationship between management and workers. The hardest part of the job was not being able to satisfy all customers because of stock shortages. The most enjoyable part of the job was definitely being busy constantly because of the volume of customers as I love a fast-paced atmosphere rather than being idle.
Pros
Great starting wage
Cons
very short shifts
