Good place to work
development manager (Former Employee) –  Dublin24 August 2017
In general a good place to work.
Work life balance is out of sync as you end up working upto 50 hours a week and do not have time to get the time back.
Pros
Friendly place to work
Cons
long hours

An awful company to work for. Worked with them for 15yrs and was fired without notice for one minor mistake. No warning given just terminating your agency.

Plain and simple just AVOID...... I worked for the sligo office and seen first hand customers mistreated. The Manager and the other agent for provident covered there tracks. The Yough couple in question were not lien i seen first hand what was going on. I also seen that agent been ignornet towards people and other customers had a diffrent agent that would follow them home from town. This company is full of liars and cheats tottaly avoid if you know whats good for you.

Provident is not a good company to work with and any agent will be given a weekly interview to attend were they are asked to justify figures and amount of time and effort put into running their agency, even though the Agent is classed as Self-Employed.

Anyone thinking of starting with Provident as an agent should have the contract thoroughly checked by a professional person, as e.g one clause states that the contract can be terminated with 7days notice, regardless of how long the agent has worked with Provident..

Targets are always increasing and any agent should ensure they are full aware of the Money lenders Act, check on Central Bank website. An Agent should ensure all instructions received from Provident are in writing.
Income is Commission based and is very low considering the outgoings for an agent, car, phone, insurance etc
