High paced, physical work. Not bad all round.

Indeed featured review

Massive work expected, management make you feel like you're exceptionally lucky to be earning a living wage. You'd earn a slightly lesser wage in other retail companies but at least you wouldn't be killing yourself day in day out

Pros

Keeps you fit, day goes quickly

Cons

Long hours expected, illusion of work life balance that isn't really there

Good place to work fast paced environment the day goes quick

Good place to gain experience in retail it’s not for people who don’t like to push themselves too hard.the shifts go very fast in there cos you don’t have any idle time.

Tough, but fair

The work at Aldi is tough and physically demanding, with a lot of emphasis on time targets. However, the staff and management are more than fair to you as long as you work at it and show signs of progression.

Pros

Good wages, fair management, flexible rota

Cons

Physical work, emphasis on speed over quality

Hard work little return

At Aldi you will be expected to be available to work any day any time. Early starts 5am late finishes 11pm. Unreachable targets and purposely understaffed stores. Leads to a toxic environment where ever is judging each other. Aldi don’t want to pay enough staff to do the job so you will be overworked. Standards are expected but they are not willing to give enough hours to the store to meet these standards and the shops are suffering.

Pros

Career progression

Cons

No work life balance

very mid

physically exhausting and mentally draining unless you're a literal robot you won't enjoy it at all, very demanding and competitive, team is great but the actual job isn't.

It was a good place to work.

I really enjoyed working in Aldi. The only two things I didn't like was getting paid monthly and being put on the first till from a 2 to 10 shift. Other than that I felt it was a great place to work. Always kept going and it was good work. A bit of heavy lifting but not too bad.

Pros

End of year bonus

Cons

Paid monthly

It's hard work, but amazing team and management

Yes it was hard like any job, but the team were great . Management was very understanding and helpful. Even when my son born we got plenty of baby presents but it's not even that, mostly that they cared about us and its well worth it. It was like a great workout and your body will get used to it :) I would recommend it a lot, great experience and I never regret it. Jan the store manager always looked after us.

Pros

Paid break, good salary

Cons

Morning shift are not easy

Busy

Everyone is involved in the running of the store, even managers. Your day flys by and they care about the welfare of their staff. Recommend working here.

Awful

Management are awful. No support for staff. Don't care about employees just getting the work done. Low staff levels for high amount of work. Unacceptable expectations at times.

Hard, stressful

Could be early starts, management are on you straight away about targets and if you do not reach them you will be let know, shifts vary in time, very hard. Could get a call asking you to work with in the next hour and make it very difficult to say no.

Pros

Wage

Cons

Hard, stessful, pressure from management.

Fast pace environment.

You can get more hours if the management requires someone. Very fast pace environment. You are been monitored on all the task you perform in store. Over all I was satisfied to work there because of the pay.

Bad People Culture

Disrespectful Environment. Bullying Environment. They don't care about workers wellbeing. They are dismissive towards someone's age so if you are older you will never be promoted. Stay away from this company!

Hard work

Very physical shifts are 16:00 to 14:00 and 14:00 till 22:30 lots of pressure and short staffed. Not much training and micromanagement. Money is good but its going downhill got are bonus taken off us usually receive a 30 cent pay rise and 500 euro voucher for shop but this year removed voucher and gave 60 cent payrise raised all prices in shop so not really getting payrise just keeping with cost of living
