Overall a very nice place to work, people are very committed to work and enjoy what they are doing as they are mostly driven by passion for the games and the culture.

I have wasted many years of my life in a futile attempt to grow into Blizzard but the management is horrendous and treats employees unfairly. The people in charge are uneducated former low tier personal that failed their way upwards via preferential treatment. Yes-men are being pushed while challenging bad decision made by management will cause disciplinary actions.
forbidden.Me and my colleagues have been working on fixing the failures of the higher ups for years in a futile attempt for improvements.
Pros
Relative secure job if you remain a brainless yes-sayer
Cons
Loss of sanity. Unfair treatment. No opportunity to grow

Due to the nature of the industry Blizzard works in, it naturally attracts a younger workforce. This, in turn, creates a very special atmosphere in the work culture, which is relaxed at the same time as it is very result-driven.
Pros
High amount of freedom as long as the work is being done.
Cons
Have a hard time understanding its own place sometimes, and changes business directions.

At Blizzard it is all about computer games, and the gaming mentality. If you are a gamer, you will find a new home and a new family, if not, it will look crazy like the "Dark Portal" at the main entrance.

pros: the very helpful and friendly colleagues and game references everywhere, epic parties and events, safe work place, all the bonuses like pension, health insurance, canteen, gym on site and so on

cons: the cost of living left the salaries behind in the last years

Blizzard is an amazing place to work, particularly as a Gamer loving Blizzard's products.

The people in Blizzard are kind and smart, there is a lot of passion due to most of the employees being gamers themselves
Pros
Overall great, all aspects of the job or the compensations
Cons
Limited career opportunities for the Cork Office (mostly Customer Support)

It's a fine place to work, lots of perks. The offices are your typical office cubicles, nothing great about it. Trainings are fairly good. Equipment is sometimes outdated. Biggest con is some managers haven't a clue. Other managers are good though, so it's the luck of the draw. Forced to change teams often, so your luck won't last.
Pros
Lot of perks/discounts
Cons
Bad management

Blizzard is one of leading gaming companies in the world and fun place to work like their games.
Helping customer (gamers) was great experience and I have further upgraded knowledge in terms of teamwork and communication and interaction with customers.

Usual day was assisting players in game via ticket system and live chat. It had easy days (simple tasks that were everyday issues, being stuck, assistance with quests, etc.) and some hard days (discovering issues yet encountered like, establishing reason for game not launching in technical terms, crashes, unable to start, computer issues related to game or not, etc.)

Overall it was fun and entertaining workplace to be in. Great people, helping team, extremely motivational.
Pros
Workplace, people, software, free transportation, etc.
Cons
None

A typical day at work?
Would be dealing with customers "player" via a very popular online game.

What you learned? Identify the players issue and resolve it right there and then.

management: Very helpful in identifying the way business was done via agent and customer and if there was anything else that could been done to help the customer's experience.

your co-workers? Helpful in a way that made the team shine through certain issues relating to the work ethics of the organization.

the hardest part of the job?

My experience was the knowledge of the product that was quite large in volume to give my 100% to the job.

the most enjoyable part of the job?

Everything
Pros
discounts on merchandise of the company, canteen, free parking and free bus home when working late.
Cons
well thats easy work hard :)
