A great place to work. Continuous Improvement is encourage. Good salary, Plenty of extra overtime if interested. Flexi-time. Work from home option 2 days a week. Friendly working atmosphere. Very stressful at time, especially last 2 weeks at the end of each quarter. Great learning academy in BT. Close relationships with internal and external customer along with suppliers. I knew nothing about telecoms when I started in 2006, now I know the technology inside out and processes to deliver.
Imagine having a member of staff bully another colleague to the point they walked out of the office and for management to discipline the person who was bullied. Welcome to BT where you have BT Uk come over and refer to the “main land” and you make appointment for field agents to go into companies and they not turn up. The same field agent that was on the Irish apprentice and told she was a joke. Horrible company
I worked for BT for 14 years. It was always challenging but if you managed to execute you were rewarded and promoted. Work Life balance was always an issue though.
I got to travel the world, meet other awesome BT people.
Really great company.
answer calls help customer to your best you can go over and beyond
I learned how to deal with difficult customer
management are ok
work culture is fun and multi culture there many different culture on the work floor
hardest part of the job when get a difficult call and you can't get to the bottom of there issue on the first point of contact
most enjoyable part of the job is meeting new people and getting to know how and what is happening and also the event that is held in the work place from the number of charity that we raise more for though the year
good people working there hours are too bad
the rotation shifts never the same shift time in one week
Good opportunities to develop and grow. Expensive to change the legacy systems and the strategic systems are difficult to implement globally due to politics and vested country interests.
All round if you're in a good department like IT then the work is enjoyable and appreciated financially.

-They give you space to innovate dependent on team and manager as long as you provide your daily / weekly / monthly & yearly outputs (very understandable and completely necessary!)
-Flexible depending on manager but I have always had extremely good managers there
I have been with BT for nearly 10 years now. Entering as a rep on a helpdesk, moving on to diff roles, eventually managing that helpdesk and am now a contract manager on one of the larget contracts BT has.
I assist in the running of works control team
I deal with priority work / escalations which entailed re-scheduling of workloads at short notice with restricted resources and time constrains.
I answerall calls / e-mail requests from internal customer departments.
Project work – Worked closely with project management teams on numerous projects,
BOI and Broadband for Schools circuit rollouts, node consolidation project.
Hardest part of job is sourcing engineers at short notice
Most enjoying part of the job is seeing your project completed on time and seeing faults fixed on time
