I worked at Card Factory in Dun Laoghaire for almost 2 years and, at first, it was incredible. After the old manager left it became so much worse. The new manager was lovely at first but quickly became lazy. Constantly had staff in the stock room rather than on the shop floor. Made staff do everything while he sat and watched then took all the praise for it all. The management above him was even worse. Not long after i started in the company the store was robbed and all of my belongings were taken from my locker. Nothing was done to help me :/ If you’re okay with being walked all over then they’ll be great to you at card factory.
Very flexible hours
Poor management, low wages
I worked at cf for around 8 months and since the previous manager left the shop has had extremely strict management that doesn't take into consideration employees health and safety. Employees are over worked and patronised as well as that youre only paid minimum wage and for the work expected it isnt worth it
Bad pay, severely strict management
Management in card factory limerick are the best... very understanding and treat staff like human beings not robots.... always fair to everyone as much as can be...Theres plenty to learn and excellent opportunities for the right people.. couldn't fault them.
Card factory are like a family all scattered around the Country, every shop manager helps another manager out when needed, staff are all lovely the shops are bright and clean. They always give the in house staff the opportunity to go up the ladder before going outside to fill the roles. It is hard work but it's only as hard as you make it yourself.
I love everyone that I work with and most customers are lovely but management is awful. I’m paid less than minimum wage, we had to work the whole Christmas period with no carrier bags to give people for their purchases which made 90% of people leave their stuff behind, all because management didn’t order enough and wouldn’t buy more for us, this led to abuse from customers, good place for experience but bad for everything else
Very bad people too work for and management haven’t a clue and you are paid very little for the work you do and they also want you too always be on the click of a button if they ring you asking can you come too work in the next 5 mins because they don’t the rota wrong never work for these
Bright vibrant shops , lovely customers great product, 4 and 8 hour contracts are all this store offer, when it’s busy you have to be available for long hours due to too few employees, when it’s quiet they cut your hours and only roster contract hours, company ethos very poor towards employees. They promise great management advancement if you commit to being a key holder but they only pay extra for this when the managers not there on her day off. So you do it the rest of the week for no extra!! Free training lol. This uk company run the business on a shoe string of part time contracts, poor working conditions with the manager the only staff member with a 40 hour contract and performance bonus. Minimum wage to multitask, Employee burn out, huge turn over of staff due to bad working conditions and lack of company respect. Budget by name, budget by nature
4 or 8 hour contracts

It was not a great place to work. The managers often took a long time to put the roster up. Managers constantly kept leaving the job because they hated it. Employees get absolutely no employee benefits apart from a 20% discount. I would not recommend working here to anyone.
Terrible management and no Christmas bonus or any type of bonus.
