Easy going at times but can get stressful due to high volume of customers at random times along with difficult customers.
Store Assistant (Current Employee) - County Dublin - 7 August 2022
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedWorking at Circle K is nice most of the time but no matter how much effort you put into your job you'll never get told that your doing well or to keep up the good work. The only feedback you'll ever get is if you did something wrong or if something has to be done a different way which is quite disappointing. Managers & Supervisors haven't got a clue what to do & how to do there jobs, usually always clash as one wants something done this way & the other a different way so no matter which way you do it, it'll always be the wrong way in someone's eyes.
Pros
Free water & Coffee but that's about it.
Cons
Finish at 11 & in at 6 the next morning

Straightforward but unengaging
Sales Assistant (Former Employee) - County Westmeath - 26 July 2022
Worked for about a year in a Circle K in Westmeath Busy area accommodating high traffic Often minimally staffed so at peak hours would be quite under pressure to not make a mistake, produce food etc. Nice coworkers and pleasant local managers. The upper management and regional managers are absolute plonkers and you're best to be off work when they're around. Night shift got a premium rate so you could work 32 hours and get the same net pay as 40 hour gross. Constant ridiculous surveys and "trainings" you have to do - most of which don't make sense or aren't relevant due to them being based in America.

Sales Assistant (Current Employee) - Dublin, County Dublin - 13 July 2022
Please do not get a job at circle K. It is not a good company, you will not be appreciated for your hard work and you will spend most of your time wanting to leave the company

Tiring
Sales Assistant (Former Employee) - Carlow, County Carlow - 8 July 2022
Overworked and underpaid. Hours will get cut whenever they feel like it. Managers expect loads to be done in a short space when also serving customers. Give out of something small isn't done. After your 6 month probation everything changes.

Every day something new to learn
Supervisor (Current Employee) - Drogheda, County Louth - 16 June 2022
Too much tasks, staff are underpreasure, super busy place to work. It would suit to person who likes always keep himself busy. Rude customers on daily basies.

Stressful and bad management.
Store Assistant (Former Employee) - Westmeath - 28 May 2022
Minimum wage to work till and make food at the same time. Management leave a massive list of stuff to do and expect every single item to be done regardless of how crazy busy it is. Wage is the same no matter how busy the site is. Which is ridiculous. Management honestly dont have a clue. Even the area manager is clueless. Always making suggestions that actually hinder the site like 1 bin on the forecourt instead of 4. Tbinks it will save money but staff end up emptying the thing 8 times a day. Absolutely zero sense. If you enjoy having a social life id strongly recommend against circle k. Youll be called in on days off, asked to work morning, evening and nights, always understaffed (staff turnover is very high, i was with the company 2 years and easily seen 25 people come and go. Honestly just stay away unless you're desperate
Pros
€3 sandwich and 4c per litre discount.
Cons
Stressful, poor management, poor pay.

Jobs at Circle K
Fair
Deli Assistant (Former Employee) - Wicklow, County Wicklow - 23 May 2022
The job is fair. You have to work very hard but are treated fairly by management. No slacking. It's a quick way to lose the job. There is a real sense of team and people look out for each other. Management vary but most are kind and understanding.
Pros
3 free drinks, reduced lunches, good pay on Sundays, parking, etc.
Cons
Hard fast paced work

Lazy Co workers/stressful
Floor/Deli (Former Employee) - Wicklow, County Wicklow - 2 May 2022
Even though the pay is good it is a very stressful job especially the night shift the managers want to do you everything in the shop they leave you a big list that just can’t be done in within the hours you work. Morning staff just don’t help out the even staff. You get a ear full when everything isn’t done on the list. On your day off you always get a text to come in. I could go on and on but On less you like a stressful job then stay away.
Pros
Good pay
Cons
To stressful

Mixed
Sales Assistant (Current Employee) - Mullingar, County Westmeath - 13 April 2022
It has its ups and downs as any job, if you're up for it, then you'll be fine but if its a small site, it gets quite boring as you can only do so much when it's quiet as it's so small

Bad Management
Customer Assistant (Former Employee) - Dublin, County Dublin - 12 April 2022
often on your own anywhere between 1-5 hours. little to no training provided for supervisors/managers which means they don’t know how to treat staff. no work-life balance at all. only ever told what wasn’t done perfectly and never praised for going above and beyond.

Slow pace at times quick at others
Cashier (Former Employee) - Kilcolgan, County Galway - 29 March 2022
Awful pay, understaffed and called in often on days off, management was awful not paying staff for all of their hours and lying about the amount of annual leave earned, the staff were nice but management couldnt get worse than when I was there.
Pros
Tiny discount and fuel and free bottled water.
Cons
Understaffed and called in constantly on days off.

Staff and management where I was at least, were great.Very supportive, and understanding and got on well with all. Pay is ok, for the type of work undertaken and its about the norm one could expect in a similar position elsewhere.
Pros

Cons
Unsocial, irregular shifts
