Keeps you challenged
Each day starts with a few regular tasks: internal reporting on the previous day; checking the overnight data processes have run ok and planning what needs to be done for the rest of the day. There are sometimes challenges to overcome if any figures don't seem to be within the usual range.
I have learned a great deal about how much you can do with Excel and Access to make many tasks and reports easier and more efficient using some of the more complex formulas and writing macros. I also have developed many skills when it comes to liaising with the field and the contact centre so have an idea of what they need from me in order to do their jobs and the kind of report design that they find the clearest to read. Management requires a lot of support from my role by keeping them informed of time scales and of any anomalies I notice. The hardest part of the job is that occasionally there will be a greater workload due to several campaigns coming in at once which require longer hours to set up and report on. The most enjoyable part is being kept challenged by the constantly evolving business.
Investment in skills, Good comradarie
Low salary, Inadequate staff level
