Relatively easy to get along with everyone, staff were friendly and welcoming and management was good and very clear. Basic tasks such as serving customers at the tills and restocking shelves to cleaning shelves and floors and throwing away storage boxes. Hours varied but usually in between 4 to 8 hours per day and shifts were well balanced.

Dreadful place to work, low pay, no training at all. Store manager does nothing! Duty managers run the shop and their expected to do everything for a dreadful wage! You could work yourself to the ground for these and nothing will be done for you in return. The higher up in the companies are the most ignorant people you'll ever come across, they couldn't care less about anyone who works for them. Under 20s are paid buttons and their treated like dirt, It's a easy job don't get me wrong but if you want a job that you don't want to be going home with only 140 euro a week id avoid it because they only give you the minimum hours on your contract! Easy to climb up the ladder but that's only because managers are leaving so much!
Pros
Staff are nice
Cons
pay, terrible hours, management.

If you are looking for a high stress fast paced work environment where you get no reward, recognition or thanks for your efforts. Where the company expects you to work for unrealistic targets with skeleton crews and ever changing plans with no support due to the fact that the company is an after thought behind Poundland then dealz is the place for you. Nothing you do can ever be good enough, management generally don't get breaks and do most of the work. 40 HR salary with no overtime so if you work over 40 hours you will not get paid for it and trust me you will work more than 40 hours.
Pros
You can meet some nice people and gain some experience
Cons
No work life balance, no respect, poor pay for workload

Started off been a great company to work for but with all the cut backs its left to management to get all the work done. Expected to work 60 hours a week minimum with no extra pay, not as much as a thank you
Pros
Any common sense and you'll become a manager in no time
Cons
Forget your personal life if you do get promotion

The management does not do much in terms of their job. The pay role will mess up your pay and take weeks to fix. The abuse you get from customers is not worth the money you get paid. The colleagues are all trying to benefit themselves instead of working as team. Poor training on the sales assistants and the managers training isn't suffice into going larger businesses
Look for somewhere else for a job

Worst place in the world to work. Too much demand that at the end of the month there are always problems with payments, I worked six months and I was never paid properly and I still quit my job and they owe me money. There is no management or head office to help you, nobody knows anything. Don't do this to yourself!

Terrible company to work for. You get treated like a slave, as management we work more than anyone in the shop. That includes packing out delivery and working tills, you will spend half your time working tills and packing.

Hours can be a bit all over the place. There’s always a problem with higher up management. It’s a nice place to work people wise. Either get early starts or late finishes.

Dealz as a whole is not worth the money they pay. Depending on what shop your in the staff may make the job easier or better for you but the role isn’t worth the pay. Feels like your constantly in work and still have no money. Most management are horrible two faced only care about themselves. Not they’re staff. At the end of the day your only a number to them and easily replaced. If not in college or if you don’t have a child then it’s not worth the hours

Terrible pay, they want you to try and get people to buy stuff that they don’t want and it’s not a secure job. It’s very monotonous and a lot of the customers think it’s okay to be rude to you because it’s a low paid job.

This company are reactive never proactive they set unrealistic targets for management with the lower base duty managers put under huge pressure to complete tasks that their pay grade does not warrant.
With the parent company pound land and the senior management having no idea how to run a store except on a spreadsheet think that they know it all and continuously change things and expect stores to implement 100% yesterday.

When things are not met to standards they do not look at things realistically it's just your fault and the senior management do nothing to back up their stores and have very short memories when things are not going their way.

The colleagues that you work with are on basic wage and work hard but are made feel just as under appreciated as the stores managers by these gestapo style people who think that a summary on a piece of paper by some genius in an office is how a store operates.

I have had some really good people work with me that literally feel like dirt that are on a roller coaster of emotion because of these people & lack of management support outside of the our management team.

You bleed for your store & your colleagues do too just to be knocked down on a regular basis that saps your moral and the moral of your team which makes you wonder why you do it at all.

Structure in stores change more than the weather and then again & again because some person has a brainwave thats going to reinvent things so it's easier but it never does & then it happens over and over.

Support office is non existent, hiring people takes up to 4 weeks, payroll is

Pros
Some of the hard working lower level managers & colleagues you work with

Awful place to work. No support in the company. Forced to work crazy hours without the correct breaks in between.
High expectations but no direction or help in achieving them and punished when not done correctly.

Horrible management and staff. Would not recommend working here at all.

Absolute shocking place to work... Ridiculous company that doesn't care about its employees... Area/regional managers don't even acknowledge staff walking through the store unless they are management! Head office never deal with complaints and staff are never paid properly or on time!! Such a complete mess of a company! I would steer clear of jobs with this company, as a former duty manager please avoid
Pros
Got another job from the experience.
Cons
Underpaid.. Not paid on time.. Careless.. Under appreciated.

Not a great business to work for, only 4 weeks new manager training then straight into a shop, limited support from area management/head office . Issues in their payroll department caused by people leaving mean they don’t pay their managers/staff correctly (overtaxing staff, not paying pay rises, change of position increases). Poor hours, being asked to come in on your day off with only a few hours notice. Stressful, challenging environment, use of a store labour model means not enough hours given to keep a store in effective order (deliveries, housekeeping) . High turnover of staff, store management and area management. No extra pay for Sunday’s and issues claiming back days owed/in lieu from bank holidays, overtime, etc.
Pros
Free coffee and tea!!
Cons
Long unsociable hours, poor training and job guidance, poor support given from HR/payroll

Staff were constantly fighting for hours. Only way to consistently get more than 20 hours a week is to be put on deliveries, which necessitate a 04:15 start in the morning.

The staff make the job tolerable.

Management are extremely poor. They seem clueless most of the time and can treat staff poorly with little to no consequences

Just a really bad job all round. Hard work and bad pay. 25 hours spread over 5 days just means a bad pat packet for full weeks work. Good chance of promotion from within but still bad money and unsocial hours for management.
Pros
Other staff were nice people
Cons
Pay, hours, workload
