Sales in mda

It’s a great place to work with the correct management in place (hostile management create a hostile environment, I’ve seen both sides ) however targets and insurance sales make it a quite challenging job most of the time. IE… sse airtricity and promoting sky. It makes the job harder than it needs to be

Don't do it, it'll suck your soul.

It is simply put not a good place to work. You are paid poorly and yet expected to sell like a car salesman when you don't even get commission. From selling insurance, to credit checks via finance, lifting washing machines when you're not covered if someone goes wrong, hours are good and most of the managers are dead on, but still not enough...

Best company I’ve ever worked for.

The best company I’ve ever worked for. Only for there was only so many hours they could offer me (pandemic) I would still be working there. I thoroughly enjoyed working there with great staff members and great management. Loved it. Would 100% recommend working here.

Stressful with no support

Working in this company is stressful as there is no support from management on the floor. Training does not suffice either so extra support is needed. Very little opportunity to progress. Not a great work life balance and difficult to get time off when needed. Management change rotas on short notice and don't say anything.

You have to be favourite to get hours in this job. Management isn’t great will stick together! Had a few issues and had no one to turn to. Have to have thick skin working here

The people and friendships keep me there

Salary is poor. Very few benefits no health insurance no dental cover. Feels like uk staff get all the benefits. Progression is all about favouritism and who you’re in with. No transparency in Irish stores. Preference given to curry’s staff

Not great

Contracts are horribly low hours, who can live on an 8 hour contract. Depending on store there is favourites and they'll always get the hours. Picked on for not wearing wet shoes back after my lunch. But favourite staff members get to wear white runners all the time. Targets unrealistic in small towns. Very boring monotonous job.

Lack of proper leadership there and was not happy with there charging room and toilets conditions but I learnt alot tho I had to find out mostly for myself. Coz there is no proper channel to train n integrate a preson

Work experience

Was there for work experience for 2 weeks, in 2013 in December for Tralee Community College as part of a module, and i really enjoyed working there, as i got along with all the colleagues that workes there and helped me along the way and made me feel comfortable and confident in going there everyday, and i would reccomend anyone to work there.

Poor company

Very poorly paid with massive targets make the company plenty of money with out very little to no benefits very badly managed management think there above god and there is plenty of favourites who get all best shifts etc you have to ask permission to use the toilet

Fun workplace.

As part of a team, a sales consultant always needs to deliver good customer service, be patient and helpful. The internal system is old, we don't have the autonomy to solve clients problems as we depend on another sales portal.

Do yourself a favour - find somewhere else to work

I applied here because I liked working with technology and liked working with people. However, I quickly came to find that the job from day one is forcing you to hit targets and and is not what you would expect. You are forced to be a robot and sell sell sell. If you miss ONE thing out of a plethora of products you need to sell, the manager gives out to you. The acting manager at the time disclosed they wish they were just a sales consultant as they lived to sell - this was obvious in how they carried out their managerial position covering for a manager. Essentially they didn't really care about me - I was basically just a number that had to sell. Nothing more. You need to reach a certain amount of sales every month across different areas - failure to meet any of these, and the manager shouts at you, making you feel worthless. These targets (KPIs) also contribute to your commission earned (which by the way is paid 3 months after). Here's how commission works in this stingy company: - 30% you receive automatically - The 70% is split up into different channels you need to hit, ranging from contracts to broadband sales This 70% is almost impossible to get. Doesn't matter if the store is dead or customers don't want to buy the product - you don't hit this you don't get the commission - it all goes into the companies pockets. The atmosphere can get very intense and heated. When it gets busy, higher ups can't help you very much - and when you do make any sort of mistake, you get scolded to the point where you feel almost useless - not to mention that any mistake you make -

Be honest with customers. Be ready for competion Be open for over time. Great discount when working for the provider Commsion is hard to work too but once you get the in and outs of different networks
