It was nice to work with them, while it lasted. I wouldn't recommend leaving your current job to work for them. You can just be let go at any point because of 'money' that's what you're told anyway. There was about 20 let go within a week with no warning. Hours are 7am-5pm but you sometimes work longer without getting paid overtime but there are also days that you might finish at 3 or 4 so it balances out. Great experience! You're treated well. You feel respected and appreciated until you're let go. You set your own delivery time so if you're stressed because you have too much to do in one hour, it's you're own fault for putting too many on the scanner so don't worry about the reviews about them being unrealistic time wise, it's down to you. Supervisors are very helpful, they couldn't do any more for you. If you're a hard worker, the job is easier. If you prefer to sit a lot, stay at home
Treated well, good management
They gave me a couple of weeks to get my delivery numbers up, so fair play for that. The stress levels are high, and you have to be fit. The balance between good customer satisfaction and getting parcels delivered is not always right, If you can last more than six weeks, you'll probably get on ok. The training is an appalling lip service to higher management vision of customer satisfaction, but in reality, you've just got to get the parcels out regardless. Is it the right place? No time to check, move on. Chaotic organisation that favours the sorters rather than drivers. I liked the job, but it was too much. If they gave you a chance to learn the route, it would be a lot less stressful. Having said that, it's a crazy time of year to be learning. Less than min wage, hard work, but enjoyable
they give you a fair shake
long hard hours, poor pay
Avoid at all costs. Owner in Depot 9 is a bully. Modern day slavery. Pays a stop rate and expects 200 done a day. Only a 30 minute time limit to deliver. And God help the consequences when you go over. Not worth the exhaustiin, stress and pressure
Vehicles barely fit for the road, ongoing issues constantly. Any issues raised with the owner are ignored. No help provided, 1 man expected to deliver 2 days worth of parcels everyday. Work Saturdays but you're not payed for them, set wage Monday to Friday. 14 hour days nó lunch break.
Run run as fast as you can this place in cork isn't actually dpd it's a franchise a badly run one at that.maybe if dpd ran it it might be a better place to work having said that drivers are sound lads.beware
None what so ever
Problems constant problems
I enjoyed working with DPD it was very fast paced and prompt. It was very important to get your route planned well before starting as this would determine what your day was like. There is always somebody ready to help you if you are in need so good team work.
