The best part about working for Electronic Arts was that every day presented something new, interesting and usually challenging - boredom was rarely an issue! The organisational culture was something to treasure; open and unheirarchical, a junior analyst could chat with a senior director and it wouldn't be uncommon. Unfortunately, where I felt a little let down was in the organisational structure of the Customer Service Organisation, or more specifically the lack thereof.

It wasn't that there wasn't a clear OrgChart or division you could look up, the problem was that there was a dramatic organisational restructure every year, or every time a member of the leadership team departed or was hired. WWCE (the customer service org) suffered greatly from this, as tenured teams were often axed wholesale to make way for the new organisational flavour of the month, and those teams lucky enough to survive the sweeping changes with their headcount intact often found themselves reporting into entirely unfamiliar department heads who understood little if anything about the team's raison d'etre.
Pros
Great perks, free games, free ice cream, good time off, good salary
Cons
Long hours during launch season, varying management standards

While I worked for EA the system changed so many times we never really knew for sure who the manager was at any moment. The support tools themselves where a mash up of a bunch of old and new systems that didnt interconnect that many times people could easily play the system for free merch. Over all it was a frustrating experience.

I dont believe there are many opportunities to grow on the management side unless you are will to relocate. The people are nice and there are some high end management personnel to tend to but in general its a great team.
Pros
Lots of perks and great benifits
Cons
No room for advancement/growth

Pros
Te avanseaza rapid
Cons
Te dau afara dupa avans

Working at EA is good overall. The best part about it is the culture and the work-life balance, but since I don't work in a studio, this might be different for others. Management is not malicious but can be short-sighted. Needs more resources put into employee advancement.
Pros
Great people, fun job.
Cons
Not a lot of skill building opportunities.

Contracts are terrible for starting employees, contracting company doesn't really have an understanding of what's going on

EA is a fast paced and very exciting company to work at. They are very supportive for their workers. The building is fascinating. I appreciated working for such a strong international company, even if for a short time.

Amazing workplace culture. Inclusive, collaborative and supportive. If you have your priorities right you can make a great career there. Unfortunately, sometimes the place was very much underappreciated by the employees, usually the ones who never worked in another place before.

not so great if your not seen as impactful, can cause a massive delta on salary and bonus. Pace can be hard and you can feel like your moved around so much to cover gaps and issues caused by poor planning by management.

The people at this studio in Baton Rouge, Louisiana are great people to work for. I never seem so many people who's passion about what they love to do on a daily base.

If you are the type to tell tales, run to management, suck up and be a “yes” person, then you’re likely what they are looking for if you’re opinion isn’t the one they gave you, then you’re not in the yes club and you’re going nowhere
Pros
Salary and benefits are decent, especially if you’re a language adviser. If your local, forget it
Cons
No concept of work/life balance. Work ethic and experience is irrelevant

Working at EA was very structured and agile, however, it felt too much so. Layoffs felt regular and products seemed iterative. The learning curve was very steep, and 60 hour weeks were common.

Great place to work. Highly recommended. Good management and lots of opportunity to learn. Dog friendly work environment! Emphasis is more on the quality of work than maintaining a formal office environment.

A great company to work for, if you have a regular full-time position. Extremely frustrating if you are a temp/contractor. Upper management struggles with decision-making and cares very little about the average worker.
