Being underpaid and overworked are requirements for employees. Management are quick to point fingers at employees and are quick to threaten you with unemployment. Customers are not treated fairly and are lied to.
12 hour shifts(3 hours unpaid), Poor Management, Lack of training
sad that a company of this size lacks innovation and expertise in management. constant negative reinforcement rather than positive motivation. my manager regularly asked me to sell in an unethical manner and pull the wool over customers eyes. sad really and certainly disappointing. Their motto is "honesty and integrity is the foundation of our success", this couldn't be further from reality
Very long hours for very little money. Huge turnover of staff. It really takes over your life as can easily work 12 hour days without any thanks. Would not recommend unless willing to put in 3 to 5 years of slave labour. You will possibly be rewarded with a good position then, however.
You do not work for enterprise - you are effectively owned by them as most people will work 7.45 to 18.30, often with little or no lunch break. There will be occasions when you have to work past 18.30 if for example you are sent to another branch for a specific car or van needed for the following day. But you only get paid for 45 hours - you will be advised that you will get the time back, however 8 times out of 10, you wont! There will be promotions opportunities due to a combination of high staff turnover and continued growth. However be warned some positions are filled prior to the interviews sadly. Also due to high staff turnover, you will be left in a position of being under staffed and over worked regurlarly. On the plus side, there is a mix of skills learned, logistics, customer service, management, sales etc and your day wont be spent sitting in the seat doing the same thing from morning to evening.
will work 50+ hrs weekly and get paid for 45
Management all over the place with an area manager that has zero people or organisational skills. Example of this is giving a months notice for holidays and being told the day before taking the holidays you're not allowed.
Too much expected for so little pay
The company provides great experience, quick progression and hard work does mean generous rewards. Days can be tough as sometimes there are not enough vehicles for the number of customers coming in. The work is varied, with time spent in the office and also on the road picking up customers, vehicles, etc. I got great hands on experience on how too run all aspects of a business. However; long hours and hard to have a life.
Autonomy to run own branch, great experience of running a business
There is a clear career path with enterprise, they promote within which shows there confidence in there Management Trainee Program. If you work hard you will be promoted. Depending which branch you are located it comes more difficult to achieve a high bonus.
