Unique company - family owned and privately run
Director, IT Product Management (Former Employee) –  Galway9 May 2018
Very insular in its approach and very conservative. Majority of work is IT to serve internal users. Fidelity is a financial services company so it does not sell IT products. It does invest heavily in IT to bring financial services to its clients.

I learnt a lot about portfolio management, agile methodology, scaled Agile Frameworks, Project and portfolio management on a very large scale.

Very enjoyable team atmosphere. Team was dispersed with half in China and the others in Galway.

The Irish operation has a lot in common with the civil service. Career progression is often linked with tenure so the majority of the management team have 10 years plus with the company.
Pros
Compensation package
Cons
career progression opportunities

Do not work here
Administrator (Former Employee) –  Dublin24 October 2017
really bad management system, degrading to employees.
HR is childish, and plays colleagues against each other.
Expected to be on call a 24 hours a day.
Once received 17 calls from manager in one evening, for no particular reason, just to make lists of things to do.
moral is very low, spent most of my time doing personal tasks for manager.
Pros
car parking
Cons
everything

Principal Support Application Engineer (Former Employee) –  City Wet12 February 2017
Irish management is pure HR but performing decisions at technical level.
Pretty much self-driven as management has no idea what is going on. All decisions has to pass through management even they not knowing the business in case.
Overtime culture with no paid/rewards (all is included on end of year bonus).
Poor team play from US side, areas do not face the company as one.
Daily activities including teaching senior engineers basic of system managements.
Pros
Salary, bennefits
Cons
overtime not paid, too much overtime if no need, lack of management

It is like to be in a army camp.
Cost basis (Former Employee) –  Dublin West, County Dublin4 November 2016
I was working there for a few months . The worst experience ever I had . They provided a long training which can completely drained everything from you . The trainee had a very bossy attitude, lots of play games and all day playing music in the class ( I was told the music was to relax us during the day)which didn't help at all . The manger allocated to me had nil to very little knowledge about the business which didn't help at all. Everything is monitored , makes you feel very uncomfortable .I personally found this place for graduates .

Politics, "favours" to grow, polluted with incompetent managment
sr software developer (Current Employee) –  Dublin, Ireland15 February 2015
This company is in path to grave. Unless someone shake the organisation and clean the middle management, in a decade or so it will be vanished.

I worked in this company or a senior programmer, and in my 15 years creer this is the worst company I worked for. No value of good work only people doing "favours" to manager gets promoted and valued.

So many incompetent directors, VPs and Architects guiding the company to a place they don't know, as a hardworking developers working team know where all going... to the bin and to support middle management ego.

Please avoid this company as an employee and a customer.
Pros
Regular pay
Cons
Politics, low job security, in competent management, dying company
