Good place to work

Indeed featured review

The most useful review selected by Indeed
Over all a good place to work. Management can be unrealistic but depot managers work on ground level so understand the business needs. Good work life balance!

Very physical job

As a driver you are responsible for driving the trucks, carrying 19kg buckets of oil, collecting the dirty oil, be responsible for the money collected and wash the trucks, all of that for a minimum wage, the majority of times you will start early and finish late, as a driver you also have to load and offload the truck.

Pros

Lunch Allowance

Cons

Carrying buckets, minimum wage.

Good shout.

Good craic on site and drivers are fairly good fun too, only downside would be its abit dirty time to time. Breaks are plentyful as long as you dont go over board. Always something to do.

Excellent atmosphere and chance for progression.

Kilcolgan depot of Frylite is an excellent place to work. Trucks are good, you always work as part of a team. Opportunity for further training and progression if you wish. Management are very approachable and open to suggestions. HGV lessons and test paid for by the company.

Decent but dirty work, terrible money handy hours

Better pay required, good work life balance, decent training handy work, fresh fleet every few years, decent staff but like you’re usual work place some not so great too

Pros

Paid breaks, home early some days still paid to 5pm

Cons

Bad money, some horrible staff but mostly grand

Horrible place

Good for a new HGV driver to gain experience but once you get it, go elsewhere. No idea how to run a business or treat people. Very sneaky management. False promises, always saying things will get better but they never do. Salary is pathetic for a HGV driver. Nowhere near industry average and they wonder why they can't hold on to drivers. Working with disgusting waste oil and food waste everyday, coming home stinking. Definitely not worth it.

Pros

Permanent job

Cons

Long hours Terrible pay Bad management Dirty job

Pros

Employee Christmas Savings scheme, Good benefits, over time if required, good rate of pay, C licence training program for progression, opportunities to progress.

Cons

Long hours, traffic, flat over time rate during extra hours during the week, training program was lacks but new training program coming on site.

Yard man

A disgrace of a company, management is a disgrace no structure at all excepted to bring 200 buckets in a CADDY VAN, stay away from them even on lasagna day

Pros

No

Cons

15 hours

No structure

Expected to carry buckets up and down stairs and move heavy barells of oil onto a trolley and onto a lorry, staff that's there the longest tell management what to do and no requard for new employees and no proper training, money is poor for the work you do and €5 daily lunch allowence

Terrible place .Main problem is the lads training you in .So unhelpful and rude stay well away

Terrible place .The main problem is the lads training you in so unhelpful and rude .A lot of the lads there are locals and the management. I found them terrible to be honest. They hire all local lads and don’t seem to like outsiders in my opinion .Stay well away is my advice .Two men per truck alright as it’s heavy work and not a word said all day.I never seen anything like it so rude they really need to look at the staff they have there and there recruitment policy of hiring locals disgraceful in this day nd age .The local lads there just dump oil outside customers premises charge them nd head off and management don’t say a word to them terrible way to treat your customers .

Pros

Weekends off

Cons

Messy work, heavy work, collection of money off customers, staff morale terrible .Local lads do the job half arsed nd are allowed away with it

Good Career Progression

Really enjoyed my time working at Frylite and was very sad when I had to leave due to going travelling. Great opportunities available for career progression and great perks such as Health Plans and the social aspects fun also.. lots of staff recognition vouchers and staff fun training days. Definitely the best job I have had. Great relationships and a real family feel about the company.

Pros

Social club and committee

Cons

Felt Appreciated Here

This place really values its drivers. They could not do enough for us. Great communication from my manager and I worked with a great bunch of lads. You really get involved with the customer because I delivered to the same premises every couple of weeks. I made some good friendships working here.

Pros

Well organised runs

Awful work place... Not a driving job.... A labour job.... Be better off sweeping roads... Expected to drive a truck with oil in the back in rural parts of ireland with no straps without spills....

Bad job

Shower of idiots in management. Depot manager is a absolute nightmare to deal with. They have their favourites and it stays that way. Everyone else is treated as peasants

Nightmare

Started off really well but after a few weeks everything went down hill sharply your expected to do 50 plus hours a week covering call that others haven't got the time to do because they are the golden boys of frylite.. workload doesn't reflect the wage you received team leaders have their hands tied by management and very rarely get help from them any wonder it's a conveyor belt of people coming and going and they are employing anything with a pulse atm. Job would be good for someone looking to get the driving experience if you like long hours and pathetic pay
