Unrewarding and negative work environment.
Management of workflow done here is confusing to say the least as small things are micromanaged with excruciating detail (such as HR's paranoid monitoring of staff) while large flaws (particularly in staff training, document reading and distribution) are not addressed.
This company seems to hire many superfluous under-trained employees in positions that they need more training in but do not get, as a result people end up doing others work and don't get paid overtime.
The HR department are pushy and only thing that is monitored is the time spent at work and not the work done itself. Work-life balance is lacking, Some people are expected to work at least 10-12 hrs a day without overtime.
There are a few decent individuals in the office and helping them jump through the many obstacles in this company is probably the most rewarding part as everyone learns quick here how to work with the resources given and to be wary of certain aspects of working in such a landmine-filled company.
However, there is a lot of problems with this workplace internally and a lot of secrecy and brown-nosing too which, in fairness, in the Irish construction industry is not surprising.
