Prior to the takeover of the company by Sports Direct, the facilities were in place to allow progression via upping of the skill set, and applying for different roles, such as brand specialist, floor manager, department manager, etc,

However even within the last few years with the implementation of the current store manager, many of the old managers were made redundant, and replaced by outsourcing managers with a lower wage, as well as removing a large variety of specialized roles within the store itself, making any genuine career advancement difficult.
