Overall, it is an energetic company to work for. The pay in this industry is notoriously on the middle to low end of the spectrum, especially for the hours that are required, and Hyatt is on the middle to low end of the spectrum for hotel companies. The company is very pro employee, embodies the ideas of dignity and respect, and can offer opportunities to advance from within. It is very challenging to maintain any type of life balance with people outside of work. The hotel never closes, so keep that in mind. If you are a junior manager, expect weekends and holidays as the norm. You will work a minimum of 50 hours a week, several times 60 hours, during busy seasons you may work 6 days a week for several weeks. If you are in F&B, you can expect most of the hourly employees to make as much if not more than the Department Heads and work a lot less hours. It can be a fun industry, but expect to dedicate a large portion of your life to work in order to be successful or advance.
