Working for IBM was the best. I was working on different projects and traveling to different places each week. I meet some great people at IBM. The hardest part of the job is when you first start it's difficult to get placed on a project because you don't know anybody and you haven't had an opportunity to prove yourself. The most enjoyable part of the job is doing something different and learning everyday.
IBM is an excellent org. If you want to settle and have work life balance but the opportunity for growth are minimum. Manager plays a key role in your growth and it's imp to keep a clear vision and goal discussed and agreed with your manager. The longer you stay in IBM the more difficult it becomes to get out . Technology exposure is excellent but the treatment inside the team could be biased . Overall it's a good company for slow movers
Laid off workers with new CEO weeks into his tenure. March/April several thousand workers laid off due to COVID-19. Same 3 month severance package given to individuals who had been there 30 years or 3 years.
Work from home
Typical large corporation and everything that goes with that environment.
IBM Is a very large company with little or no processes documented. You have to be self relient and figure out things on your own but not step on the toes of your management when doing this. The biggest challenge comes when you are measured on success by your billable hours while you aren't in control of what is sold or the projects you are put on. You have to step outside of the box, try to sell yourself to your manager, and then find your own projects to try to keep your success as an consultant.
Work From Home
The every changing landscape of a big company, little communications, and no real definition of success.
Good place to work.A culture of innovation, passion and dedication towards technologies and at the same time the best place for work-life balance, fun-loving and a relaxing environment. any can go to IBM its super organization. It was very good experience working on Heterogeneous environment in IBM
Burnout burnout burnout. If you don’t set boundaries you won’t have a life. IBM is a great place for innovation as long as you’re on the right team. People are great, the lack of organizational transparency is the problem.
Nonexistent work life balance
IBM for me has been a good place to work, though other peoples views will vary hugely based on which part of the business they are in, with many having much more negative experiences. Very sales focused culture & quarterly managed business. Never standing still, the business and people are subject to constant change to meet changing priorities and customer needs. Great people to work with, though a fairly high level of churn with people coming and going.
• Responsible for successful implementation of global template of O2C (Order-to-Cash) • Actively involved in Pre-sales activities of Infosys technologies like handling specific proposals allocated by Practice managers, responding to RPF’s and preparing RFI’s, providing solution deployment and coordinating with practice mangers to decide on the resource allocation for specific proposals
IBM is the Best compony. I agree, but they have to see employee problems. Because we are serving you and not getting more. Family members are struggling nowadays with high amounts at out side. If IBMer increases the some what the salary, every employee will be Happy.
