Dynamic and interesting workplace

Every day is different because the interactions with the customer (the students) is never the same from one day to the next.

It is the type of job where you get out of it what you are willing to put in. It is possible to build a good rapport with the students and that makes it more rewarding when they succeed.

Management are very supportive, knowledgeable and understanding.

Your fellow staff members are helpful and interesting people who come from a wide variety of backgrounds.

A decent place to work

A good teaching team, collaborative and friendly. I gained lots of experience after my CELTA by working with different levels. The management was helpful too.

Stressful and unrewarding

The teaching staff are completely undervalued and undermined. High turnover of management, teachers are wonderful yet are treated poorly. None of the teachers were happy in their work and this is reflected in the students. Toxic work environment. The parent company Global systems management are not interested in the students.

Toxic work environment. High turnover.

Staff at IBAT College are deeply unsatisfied and badly treated by management. This is reflected in the regular protests, union activity and unrest that is ongoing with staff across both campuses.

Across the board, staff are remunerated poorly for their work.

The senior management team is unstable and has a high turnover due to poor and questionable management from IBAT’s parent company, Global University Systems,

Can improve

The largest ESL school in Dublin with a very high staff number: inadequate facilities/equipment for teachers, poor communication between owners, management, and teachers. Teachers not valued as professionals and are not remunerated accordingly. The school claims to be a "leader" in the industry. They are certainly not in many respects but especially regards staff treatment.
