Pipefitter (Former Employee) - Nationwide/Europe - 18 November 2019
Overall Instrotec is a great company in terms on pay holidays and family commitments. As for an apprentice it can be tough as with all big companies one to one learning isn't great. For qualified staff pay and work culture are fantastic but job security like any construction company can vary on jobs. Management overall aren't to bad n my experience keep to themselves could bebit more engaging. Overall not to bad
Very good company to work with and learn from. Great staff and working conditions. Good communication between management, office staff and employees. Employment opportunities in both Ireland and Europe.
Typical day at work - Clock in at least 5 minutes early (you would probably be docked money if ya clocked in 4 minutes early)
What I learned - Containment. That is all you need to know
Management - no words to describe them. They love there little clicks
Workplace culture - They have great lads on the tools always up for a laugh. The craic is always good on sites despite management.
Hardest part of the job - when you justify it by the Pay check you get.
Best bit - It could be worse they do pay every two weeks. So at least you have some money
Supervision treat the workers on the ground with no respect, needs to be looked at.
Promotion not given on merit but on who knows who, good lads being overlooked.
More interest in getting the number of hours up than the quality of the work.
