Nice place to work but needs some investment

Indeed featured review

Overall it is a nice place to work but needs some modernizing work. Staff kitchens are tiny and in very inconvenient places - very little privacy. Staff room in one of the buildings is quite haphazard.

I love working in ISI

I have been working in ISI for a few months and it already feels like home. There's a lovely team of teachers and everyone helps each other.I would highly recommend this school to anyone who is serious about their teaching career.

Dishonest place to work

They hire people on a zero hours style basis, unreliable work schedules. Sometimes you'll have a couple of hours a week, others you'll be overworked teaching for 8-9 hours in a day. The pay is terrible and management are a clique awarding the best schedules to their friends. They profess to take mental health seriously but made no effort to ensure that among their staff, you are treated like an object by them and discarded when they deem you of no further use.

Unreliable hours Overwork Low wage Cliquey management Fake and dishonest.

I absolutely loved working in ISI for 8 years

ISI is a genuinely excellent place to work. It's a great place for anyone who loves TEFL as their long-term profession because you are always well looked after. And there's a really low turnover of teachers because of that. The best part about working in ISI is the professional and friendly atmosphere and the culture in the school. The teachers' room is full of resources and materials. The management is quite flexible and always very helpful. The buildings are beautifully decorated and comfortable. But what I miss the most are the ISI Christmas parties!

Great atmosphere around the school among teachers and staff, Teachers are well looked after, Low teacher turnover

Teachers treated worse then animals

Working at ISI was once a happy experience but that has been completely tainted within the last year. Please think twice about starting a career with ISI. The management are fake, they use their staff, they come across as overly nice, caring, motherly (to name a few) and trying to spread a message of ‘we are all in this together’ but really what they want to say is ‘we are in this for the money, so you better do as we say and not give us a bad name’. This is a business not a school. Your needs as a teacher will not be met. The students come before the staff. If a student is mean to a teacher, usually the follow up question is, ‘what did you do to provoke the student?’. You’re paid for just the 6 hours of class time. Baring in mind you’re suppose to create fun and exciting lessons which can take hours to plan and you’re not paid a penny more.

The other teachers are of excellent help and make the place tolerable to work

management who think they are above everyone else, lack of communication from management, the student is always right and the teacher is always wrong, teachers left feeling useless and undermined, it’s run like a business not a school

Tolles Unternehmen - Tolle Mitarbeiter; jederzeit wieder

direkte Einbindung ins Unternehmen, sehr flache Hierarchie, enger Mitarbeiterzusammenhalt
