Good place to work. Great salary. Nice people. Hard to get permanent contract. Management is supporting employees. Good money for work doing there. Can recommend it.

Good place to work, professionals

J&J is a good place to work, in my experience everyone was really kind and professionals. I asked to them to many questions as a new member of the team, and they were always open and willing to answer. Just my experience with the recruitment process was not the best, for this position took me almost a year to get an answer but also for all the filters that you have to do in between, also the recruitment communication to solve doubts was really poor, is the first time that I have faced this. But everything else is okay, they care so much for your quality-life balance.

Good experience

The work is good and so is the pay. Managers are nice and friendly. Work life balance is onky OK because its is day/night split shifts. Takes a bit of getting used too.

Pros

Cheap lunch

Cons

Long hours

Salary was good but environment was stressful

Worked as a general operator for summer program and went in very excited to gain experience in such a well known company however was soon let down by various aspects. Would almost never get paid properly and would have to email many times to get this fixed sometimes waiting 2 weeks for correct payment. The workers there would blame the summer students for any mistakes (even though it was made by them) and were not professional. Highly stressful environment and everyone seemed on edge. Would act like making a mistake was no big deal and then proceed to shout ear off if you do. Workers were very condescending. Manager would almost never interact with summer students.

Pros

Salary

Cons

Salary often incorrect, stressful work environment, bias, hours long

Fast Paced environment

Great company, fast paced , good support, pays well with good scope for career progression. There is ample opportunity to progress once you are willing to put in the hard graft.

Productive and fast paced

Great place to work. It is what you want to make of it. Nights can be hard and if your not a great sleeper it’s not for you. If you don’t get on with the team on shift it can be a long day.

Great place to work

Great lace to work, fast paced, good management. Good pay and bonus. Everyone helps each other. Would recommend to anyone looking for a good secure job in a great culture. Shift work can be tough but if you are suited to it then you are away in a hack.

Started well

I loved working here when I first started but once the management team changed to new people who didn't have too much history or association with the site the atmosphere became fairly toxic. The people that were placed in crucial positions didn't have the experience in the industry to be there, which is fine if they are willing to listen, learn and follow through with advice they have been given. Sadly in this case they weren't. For a multibillion dollar company there was some serious penny scraping going on too. People being put in positions and expected to do the work that 3 people used to do without any change to the process to make it easier for the new person is a bit daft. I really do hope it changes with new management that actually go by the Credo because towards the end it just felt like everyone was depressed and anxious. And that was without the pressure that Covid brought on.

Summer cover production technician

Worked here for 4 months over the summer as a student on the end of the production line as a production technician. 12 hour shifts running the machines that packed the lenses. Work wasn't too challenging but repetitive. Co-workers were helpful and nice, same with management. They didn't hassle you unnecessarily. Can't really comment on the wages as I was a student and thought it was great at the time.

Pros

Helpful co-workers, Work wasn't too hard, No unnecessary hassle or red tape as I have encountered in similar companies

Cons

Repetitive, Month of night shift

Good working culture down there

Steady environment with good rates of pay , great team spirit within areas. Friendly people from all sectors across local industries. Staff treated fairly on each day , must adhere to batch targets once you are trained up and certified.

Cons

Good experience with the company

The staff in the consumer goods division are very welcoming of new staff while also being very helpful. There was a nice relaxed environment in the offices. Good exposure to FMCG industry and brands such as aveeno neutrogena listerine etc. Some tasks monotonous (data entry etc) but nothing too taxing. Free parking on site a bonus. 1 hour lunch with 15 minutes break and WFH options too. Good place to work overall. Salary for interns is good compared to competitors however still quite low.

Pros

Free lunches often, Free on site parking, New office spaces, Friendly staff / teams, Great discount on products, Management are not egotistical

Cons

Monotonous work that lacks creativity from a marketing point of view, Low pay for interns

Depuy/CPL

Depuy wasn't a bad place to work. But they didn't provide any lockers to store your stuff, the overall you took home to wash yourself (cpl workers) yet depuy had their overalls taken away to be washed which was a good thing as the chemicals been used. The air filtration system was shocking and was turned down on the weekends, so you needed up feeling clogged up for one or two days. The line supervisor were numbers driven which led to people rushing batches through to get a highers numbers, but that was the cause of rework for the other shift. Plus cpl staff at the time were paid less to do the same job as the depuy staff. Pay equality wasn't a thing I suppose.

Pros

On site gym, good floor crew depuy and cpl staff.

Cons

Poor air conditioning, unequal pay, no lockers, taking work clothes that were contaminated home to wash, cpl HR was dreadful to deal with

Nice office

Flexible starting hours with working from home benefits. Everyone was very nice and helpful. The problems are getting a long time to be solved as management is very slow in approving things out.

Cons

No permanent position

Bullying culture

Work hard or your jobs are going to China. That's all we ever heard in that place. It was all about the stick and no carrot. Modern day workshop. Not the great company they think they are.

Pros

Company shop with discounts

Cons

Bullying culture from the top down. All about numbers, bot quality's
