A decent wage, very fast paced sometimes
Decent management but stressed too as it can be very busy at times, the busier the shop the more hours can be given to staff so there are lots of opportunities to work extra in busy shops.

No work life balance
Job is very stressful and hard as a manager you are expected to do everything from cleaning the toilets to papre work in office. Depending on in what store you end up if it's understaffed you will be expected to stay and finish a job and you won't get paid for that. Management have 39h in the contract but they require you to stay extra to "finish the job" (no overtime paid). Higher management don't give any support to the store management most of the times you on your own, if you can't find cover for a sick person it's your problem and you have to work with less staff which leads to late closing sometimes you will end up leaving the store after 12am. You work as a cashier a packer and a management and expected to be on time and fit all the extra tasks they want

your life depends on management mood
There is no life balance as they say, there is no 14.90 when u start. they will drop u anywhere every day. I was one day in bakery 5am-3pm another 12noon till midnight. Ya sometimes u finish even later close the shop means - YOU CLEAN. Then u work 3pm-close. every day different shift your- body clock goes crazy.Always short people

Bad place to work
Get lured into the job with promises of flexibility and a good salary. Training leaves a lot to be desired for, left to your own devices even though new employees get a training plan. Say goodbye to your personal life as you'll get rostered for 30 hours but end up working 40+. Working culture is awful as any requests for flexibility or less hours is seen as laziness. Big culture of talking behind people's backs. Management leaves a lot to be desired, they don't care about employee wellbeing or health. Overall choose this job if you want to lose your self respect and end up burning out.
