Lidl Employee Review
Stressful and toxic place for work
Store manager (Current Employee) - Dublin, County Dublin - 8 June 2022
Very stressful and toxic place for work. Life work balance is 0. If you are not ready to get 30 messages a day - even on your day off or when you are on holidays- don’t accept this job. Rota is changing sometimes 3 times a week. Company culture is poor.

Well paid with opportunities to progress. No work life balance and a fast paced stressful environment to work in.
Pros
Good Salary, Company car, good exposure to managing
Cons
No work life balance. Working with limited resources. No proper support from area managers

Regional managers behave like they are Gods and do not speak to lower level staff. Unbelievably a bullying culture still exists!!
Store Manager (Former Employee) - Donegal - 8 April 2020
Great staff in store and indeed all stores but unfortunately that’s where the good story ends! Senior management have not embraced the ‘engaged workforce’ philosophy and unbelievably in these times still behave appallingly and disrespectfully.

No work and life balance
Deputy Store Manager (Former Employee) - Dublin, County Dublin - 16 July 2022
They absolutely don't care about your family life. They want you to be available 24/7. They want you to work like a horse to do 10 jobs in one day thats why they pay a little bit more than in other retailers. Store managers sitting in the office 24/7 and demanding from Deputy Managers to do more and to be faster. Store managers taking weekends off but when you ask its never possible. Deputy managers are extremely needed when the hard job needs to be done but when they need promotion they are ALWAYS NOT GOOD ENOUGH but NO TRAINING PROVIDED BY THE COMPANY. Its a lie THEY PROVIDE FULL TRAINING. DON'T FALL FOR THAT. They will show you two things and after they will expect from you to be on the store manager LEVEL. ITS ABSOLUTELY NON SENSE. AVOID!!!!! PEOPLE STAY BECAUSE OF GOOD MONEY.ITS NOT WORTH IT.!you are only a number to them.
Pros
Money
Cons
Everything
