Tough work

Indeed featured review

The most useful review selected by Indeed
Work is tough. Constant staff change. Depends on department you are in. F&V is awful. Money is good but work life balance is difficult. Always asked to work extra.

Fast paced, heavy lifting

Very good if long hours are needed but monthly pay is the worst part about it. I would recommend it as a long term job but make sure you have a good savings scheme.

Pros

Lots of overtime available

Cons

Monthly pay

Stay away

Horrible place to work. Terrible.management. only way to describe it is a revolving door system. Ten minute training and away you go. It's all about egos with the management

None

Cons

To many

Bad job

The work is fine worked in worse places its some managers that need to cope on if they got rid of them they wouldn't need to be hiring all the time people would actually want to stay

Pros

None

Cons

Bad back

negative workplace, extreme pressure culture

constant pressure to work overtime for free, threatened job security, bullied staff into procedures that didn't benefit them. I would not recommend working here.

Pros

great salary

Cons

long hours, unnecessary pressure and negative reinforcement

Slave job

Bad hours you'll be kept on the back shift for a very long time and mostly on one section there is no rotation at all which is stupid. There is not enough pickers so sometimes you might even do 14 hour shift finish at 2-3 at night and tht might continue for the whole week when business is bussy.

Okay ish

Great culture and fun between colleagues. Working hours were a bit ridiculous, i.e. 1pm-11pm but sometimes you suddenly get asked (an hour prior to the end of your shift) go up to 1 am or even 3 am during Xmas period. Decent pay when compared to similar companies

it has its good and bad moments like any place ,anytime we had halloween or christmas we would be missing 20 or 30 staff and left in the mess and it happened alot

Horrible place to work

Absolute joke company worked in the Mullingar warehouse for 3 and a half years and the best thing I ever did was leave No concept of people caring more about there life outside of lidl the company has to come first Money is good if your prepared to work at weekends at night and do 50 hour weeks Your told you can progress that s nonsense Back breaking labour with no standard of health and safety you are looked at as a number and you will be flogged until you can't work anymore Ridiculously underqualified supervisors who have no concept of what there supervising bit will then criticise performance when you might see them for 5 mins a week overall disgrace of a company and no amount of money would get me too work there again

Disrespectfull to individuals

Managers have only one goal, it is to acomplish sale targets. They do not care about their working colegues, and do not respect private time. Working rosters are made with no sense to humanity. There is one group of people who are privileged in company, people with Lithuanian passport. Training proces is bad, they just need people to work as numbers, not humans.

Slave job - good looking on the outside total garbage on inside !

Not for people with family. Very rude managers and bully supervisors . Even if you hit the target you will never be good enough . Very unsafe place to work ! Safety is only on the papper in reality they will sqeez all the juice out of you no matter what . It is a lie company . Vages .... People who work there for over 5 years and moren even they don't understand how vages ar calculated . What you get is 1 payment a month for last 2 months . You will also get a payslip with tons of useless info on it that will only confuse you . If you will ring payroll for extra info/explanation about your wages then answer always is the same - basicaly they say that you are stupid and everything is correct ! Most people who work there are unhappy with the way Lidl represents payslips and how vages are calculated but it is pointles to argue ! If you like to be treated like a slave then you will love this place !

Pretty OK

Decent place to work, management opportunities always available so got chance for advancement. Not very rewarding work though, long hours with no social life to be expected.

Stay Away.

I worked as an SOM for 4months and it's the worst job I have ever had. Employees for the most part hate working there and are only there for the money which creates a very poor working environment. Money is the only good thing although when you work out the hourly pay for an SOM it's only €13.73 an hour on account of the crazy hours at €50,000 per annum. Obviously this is the starting wage and your Salary increases if you can stick it which most don't. I would advise to stay away!!

Pros

Good Salary.

Cons

Insane hours, poor working atmosphere, bad executive management.

Mentally draining

Worked for 2 years within company very fast paced work environment too much expected hours vary from week to week can be cut anytime depending on how busy the day is!often got phone calls from management to come to work on days off every week and if I had other plans and refused hours would be cut the week after to advance in this company seem to depend which country your from often had no breaks in a shift this including a 12 hour shift would stay far away from this company if I'm been honest

Pros

Kept busy

Cons
