stressful and not fun
Warehouse Operative (Former Employee) –  Charleville, County Cork19 January 2020
Bad hours and you work hard. Management does not care if you work hard and won't care if you are tired. They just want the work done and do not care if you are exhausted from working 6 days in a row.

Horrible place to work
Warehouse Operative (Former Employee) –  Mullingar, County Westmeath12 December 2019
Absolute joke company worked in the Mullingar warehouse for 3 and a half years and the best thing I ever did was leave
No concept of people caring more about there life outside of lidl the company has to come first
Money is good if your prepared to work at weekends at night and do 50 hour weeks
Your told you can progress that s nonsense
Back breaking labour with no standard of health and safety you are looked at as a number and you will be flogged until you can't work anymore
Ridiculously underqualified supervisors who have no concept of what there supervising bit will then criticise performance when you might see them for 5 mins a week overall disgrace of a company and no amount of money would get me too work there again

Work life not balance
Warehouse Operative (Former Employee) –  Newbridge, County Kildare3 September 2019
Working time is not fixed and variable due to the company.
Required high performances in a bad working environment. Which is stay whole day in a chiller or whole day picking heavy stuff.
Good muscle and back needed, u have to bend down your body everytime to pick up the goods and they don't care about your work safety.

Slave job - good looking on the outside total garbage on inside !
Warehouse Operative (Former Employee) –  Mullingar, County Westmeath4 April 2019
Not for people with family. Very rude managers and bully supervisors . Even if you hit the target you will never be good enough . Very unsafe place to work ! Safety is only on the papper in reality they will sqeez all the juice out of you no matter what .
It is a lie company . Vages .... People who work there for over 5 years and moren even they don't understand how vages ar calculated . What you get is 1 payment a month for last 2 months . You will also get a payslip with tons of useless info on it that will only confuse you . If you will ring payroll for extra info/explanation about your wages then answer always is the same - basicaly they say that you are stupid and everything is correct !
Most people who work there are unhappy with the way Lidl represents payslips and how vages are calculated but it is pointles to argue !
If you like to be treated like a slave then you will love this place !

Hard and Unsafely
Store Person (Current Employee) –  County Kildare5 January 2019
Hard job physically and mentally.
Some of colleagues are very hard working people, but not treated equally. Shifts are made inappropriate way, as two members of staff staying on their own in store, in very busy hours at the evenings, it makes very difficult to take a break. Customer service suffers because of that seriously. Thefts increased since 2 people are working at the late nights. Very hard to be listened.
Pros
rate per hour
Cons
Extremely high pressure, lack of trainings, lack of management, hard to take breaks

Terrible place to work
Warehouse Operative (Former Employee) –  Newbridge, County Kildare1 October 2018
Easy to get injured, high pallets, loads of straps, plastics, pieces of wood, cardboards on the floor, they have “pick rates” “targets” which is 250 boxes per hour average, you cannot reach them using manual handling so you have to bend your back not your knees, most of the times problems to receive holiday pay or sickness pay, lots of strange changes in working time every week, never know what time you finish, only know what time you start,in the event of fire they not evacuate people but send them to pick in different area of warehouse,i wouldn’t recommend it to anybody

The worst nightmare that you could dream about
Warehouse Operative (Current Employee) –  Newbridge, County Kildare11 April 2018
Success of this company is based on a lie. You can't ask for anything but if you try then be prepared to meet a wall. This is perfect job only for young physically fit people without kids or even partner. Really easy to get injured when working especially in fruit & veg dept. Loads of straps, pallets, pieces of broken palles on the floor. If You will hit their targets they gonna always ask for more and more. Maybe stores is a different place.. Management cares only about numbers. You must ask even before goin to the toilet. And the last thing is You work really fast then You can get like 6 hours if not they will make a problems even to work those contracted ones.

Warehouse Operative (Former Employee) –  Newbridge, County Kildare10 January 2017
Worst mistake of my life taking this job. Starting at 1 pm and not allowed leave till everything is done which usually was 1 or 2am. Ideal job for someone who has no life, no partner and definitely no kids. A robot basically.
