A lot of management positions involved in day to day operations being a large hotel. Good benefits from health to discounts at hotels. Always meeting new people from all over the world. Generally a lot going on events wise in and around the hotel. Staff is friendly and generally wiling to help. Combination is in hotel traffic and outside traffic. Hardest part is some guest are upper-middle class that try to throw their weight around with their wealth and can come across snobby for lack of a better word.
Probably the worst place I have ever worked. To start the person who hired me was terminated before I even started. I was forgotten about HR gave me no answers I waited 6 weeks between the time of my interview and the first day I started. I then found out the manager that hired me was fired after being set up by coworkers who would then brag about getting her fired. A new restuarant manager started prior to covid. He tried starting drama between myself and another co worker and then during the start of the pandemic was told I was not in a group text for information and he blew me off. He allowed a server to spread misinformation about what the company would provide for its employees. Marriot did NOTHING. WORST COMPANY I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED.
Management, environment, coworkers, Hr, Literally everything.
I will recommend The company because is a good place to work the people are friendly and you can learn a lot more skills at this company The work is easy And when you come in the all about getting the job done you know what to do they teach you what to do and you have a better opportunity work of was
Management cares nothing for employees and point scale pushes you right out the door. Favoritism is prevalent if you have kids or family think again about working for Marriott Syracuse downtown have seen good employees push out the door by management basically which is the reason for such a high turnover rate
I was fired from the Marriott because a girl said that I did something did they called gross misconduct. She said that I spit in her drink, but nobody saw me do this and they had no proof of this because it was a lie. I was not able to defend myself whatsoever, and this person harassed me from day one but I was fired. Everything was swept under the rug did she did to me, but when she brought up Ally that she couldn't defend
Management sucks, they're all a bunch of dicks

A typical day at a Marriott hotel and resorts, Your day would start with a team meeting, You'll be giving your duties for that day. Such as your rooms, Your required to stock your cart with all the guest needs and room cleaning supplies to start. You must be able to clean a room in a timely matter, which ever their time requirements meet for the amount of rooms you have that day. management will work with whatever you need assistance's with, the work place culture is very high paced, very organized. you must be able to communicate with guest, and play your part in the hotel environment. Id say the hardest part of the job is having patience with customers when situations turn for the worse, Best part of the job is the lunches/dinners they prepare for the employees, twice a day depending on Ur shift, and the events the hold for the employees along with the discount on stays at other hotels related to said hotel.
great learning experience
