I loved the people I work with and work for. Banquets can be over booked for are space and staffing making the job very challenging. I also wasnt budgeted for a sous chef only supervisors and with four outlets to oversee I end up putting alot of hours in.

The Marriott hotel I currently work for is owned and operated by a different company. I cannot truly speak to working for a corporate Marriott hotel. I do, however agree with the principals of quality and service expectations set by Marriott in their Brand Standard Audit

Never again will i work for a franchised hotel chain. All of the standards expected but with none of the perks. 75 hour weeks were regular to make sure tight budget targets were met and ecceeded ( no bonus scheme also so not encouraging) when other HOD were lucky to touch 40 if that.
Pros
wage
Cons
hours, morale, progression

Happy associates equal happy guests. I enjoy teaching and motivating associates to reach their full potential, naturally they will feel motivated and empowered to take care of our external guests and customer satisfaction will be high. I am a carazmatic and energized motivator and positive influencer. Highly motivated "people person".

This is a brand new and hotel that is a beautiful part of the skyline. It is a flagship of the Marriott Brand. Just like any new hotel it takes a year to get it running smooth and work out the kinks. The future is bright.

Very hard work, not enough time in a day to complete everything.
Don't trust upper management

The workplace is all right could use a facelift

The hardest part of my job is meeting the numbers every week and cutting employee hours while still maintaining brand standards.

The most enjoyable part of my job is the time talking with fellow employees at lunch.
Pros
Good work experience
Cons
no family time
