Not paid enough for how demanding it is
Crew Member (Current Employee) - Limerick, County Limerick - 23 May 2022
Good job, free lunch at your break, friendly atmosphere. Fair progression opportunities. Tiring work though, and considering it is a multinational company, minimum wage is quite low for the amount of work you do.
Pros
Free lunch, they are flexible with you
Cons
Tiring work for low pay, disorganised at times

Great first job
Crew Member (Former Employee) - Galway, County Galway - 22 May 2022
It is a great first job to have while studying in college. I worked only on weekends when I did not have classes. There will be rush hours with long queues but there will also be quiet times with almost no clients.
Pros
Free lunch
Cons
Minimum pay, rude customers

Fast paced
Crew Member (Former Employee) - Dublin Airport, County Dublin - 18 May 2022
It’s a good job for young people and students, the staff were mostly friendly . Management was okay, not paid enough for the amount of work you’re expected to do, very fast paced and stressful job but at times enjoyable especially when the customers and management recognised the hard work.
Pros
Free lunch, friendly staff
Cons
Rude customers, minimum pay

Fast Paced But Enjoyable
Crew Member (Former Employee) - Cork, County Cork - 11 May 2022
Working here was fast paced and a bit stressful at times but for the most part it was good fun. Everyone has an equal chance of advancing to higher roles. Your colleagues also play a big part while working. Once everyone plays their part, the work is a breeze. Morning shifts are usually quiet hectic but the closing shifts are way more relaxed. I would recommend working here.
Pros
Free Lunch, Employee Discount Card
Cons
Can be stressful, Customers can be rude

The coworkers even the managers are always in a bad mood because of the stress. You have to deal with the customers, stress and coworkers.
Crew Member (Former Employee) - City Centre Dublin, County Dublin - 10 May 2022
Pros. Food allowance, flexible schedule and discount in every McDonald's around Dublin Cons. Too stressful for a low payment. Coworkers and managers always in a bad mood

Heart Breaking and soul crushing
Crew Member (Former Employee) - Dooradoyle, County Limerick - 25 April 2022
The customers will appear in your nightmares abusing and berating you while management will also appear asking you to work overtime and turn your 8 hour shift into a 10 hour and then a 12 hour and then a 16 hour. Do mot work here it will break you.

Good place to work when not busy
Crew Member (Current Employee) - Douglas, County Cork - 11 April 2022
I enjoy working there all the staff are friends cus we're all just young people working minimum wage job can be stressful when bust and customers cam be really rude sometimes mostly it's the people working there that help get through a tough day the management is hit or miss with some managers being fine and nice to work for others can be overly bossy a variety of different jobs to do keep the day for being too tedious and nothing is too physically demanding overall a good place to work

Stressful
Crew Member (Former Employee) - Ireland - 5 April 2022
The crew are usually nice and people are friendly however the expectations from the managment is unrealistic.Having said that some managers were lovely and always willing to help however others not so much.It really depends who you are working with on that specific day and what managers are on shift. It’s a good starting job but the environment can be toxic and stressful and job itself can be unrewarding.
Pros
Free lunches
Cons
toxic environment

Professional Artmosphere and People Centered
Crew Member (Former Employee) - Ennis road - 26 March 2022
The place is nice. I made a lot of good friends and I'm wasn't stressed. The reason I left isn't farfetched, I had to be a major key player than being in the bench. The work place is Neat, no stench.

Temporary Job
Crew Member (Former Employee) - Dublin, County Dublin - 17 March 2022
Minimum wage, to be honest exactly what you expect McDonald's to be. Trained on each station. Busy times and empty times. Go home feeling greasy. Half of time is cleaning.
Pros
Free lunch
Cons
Late and early shifts, going home feeling greasy

It’s nice experience with international people
Crew Member (Former Employee) - Dún Laoghaire, County Dublin - 15 March 2022
I was very happy to work such a big company and busy fast food preparation. It’s a lot of fun and tried at the same time. You have to work very fast. Your time go so fast that you don’t no even time. All day with music, timers sound and order sound. The bad thing is waste a lot of food.

A job for night owls
Crew Member (Current Employee) - Cashel, County Tipperary - 13 March 2022
Job is decent? Like it's easy enough for the pay and you get free lunch but you could have the weirdest hours. Could be on till 1/2am one night then back in for 12pm the next day. Some customers are unbearable. Say they're flexible but they make you set yourself to fully available? 48 hours? I have worked 11 days in a row just to get 2 days off. Would be better if the scheduling was better.
Pros
Free lunch and employee discount.
Cons
Weird hours, customers

Strong culture of harassment/assault
Crew Member (Current Employee) - Tralee, County Kerry - 9 March 2022
Worked as a crew member for almost a year and was disgusted at the behaviour of other crew & managers. Multiple complaints were put in and nothing gets done.

Nice people but stressful
Crew Member (Former Employee) - Temple Bar, County Dublin & Santry - 8 March 2022
a stressful place to work, most managers go on a power trip, even the crew trainers think they own the place. hours are also ridiculous some of the time
