Productive and fun work environment
McDonalds Crew Member (Former Employee) - Athlone, County Westmeath - 26 May 2022
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedOverall it was a great place to work, made great friends there. You will do well if you're a hard worker and a team worker, but will bring the team down as a whole if you're not . Good training involved for a first time job. Hours can be unpredictable and not the best if your a student.
Pros
Free lunches, transportation, employee discount, friendly staff
Cons
Long hours, high staff turnover

Under-Qualified management staff with poor decision making processes
McDonalds Crew Member (Current Employee) - Athlone, County Westmeath - 16 July 2022
The managers are very bias to out of friend co workers and judge based off of looks or personality on how to treat you The work load is simply too much whilst managers disrupt you

McDonalds Crew Member (Current Employee) - Ashbourne, County Meath - 30 June 2022
They brought in more inexperienced staff when we just needed more good, experienced staff. I felt guilt tripped in taking more hours and over praised into staying
Pros
free lunch under a tenner
Cons
customer called me a slur. I’m autistic, do the maths.

Okay place to work
McDonalds Crew Member (Current Employee) - Limerick, County Limerick - 1 April 2022
It was okay to work for just really stressful and I found that I was always stressed out. Customers are really rude to you for no reason. The staff are lovely though and it’s an easy job to get the hang of.

Mcdonalds
McDonalds Crew Trainer (Current Employee) - Ireland - 27 March 2022
Not paid fairly for the amount of work that is done managers expect too much from one person it's impossible you are expected to drop everything your doing and put the company first and several hours without breaks

Horrible hours
McDonalds Crew Member (Former Employee) - Cork, County Cork - 11 March 2022
I told them I wanted to work part time due to college, so they stuck me on full time on the evening shift. I had to work until 1am, sometimes 2am on college nights. Honestly awful place to work as they clearly don't listen to their employees.
Cons
Long hours

It’s okay
McDonalds Crew Member (Former Employee) - Dublin Airport, County Dublin - 19 February 2022
My time working at McDonalds was okay, the managers were very strict but the other Crew Members were easy to get along with. The job is stressful and fast paced but you learn to deal with that.
Pros
Free lunch, Good for young people
Cons
Short breaks Stressful

make great friends
Fast Food Assistant (Former Employee) - Galway - 24 March 2020
McDonalds is a good job if you are in college as they are understanding with hours you can work one day a week and after college hours basically whatever days suit you.
while I worked there I felt as if it was sexist as in the men only worked in kitchen and not many men knew how to work anywhere else and very few girls worked in kitchen. the girls get trained everywhere very few get trained in kitchen so we can work on any section but we all mainly wanted to work in kitchen but the boys always got first pick as its not a womens job i guess. i felt as if the men got away with a lot more then the girls when it came to being late, messing, lazy and not working hard enough.
some managers I had were amazing and so kind and understanding others not so much and some didnt deserve to be. the power got to some of their heads. I had one manager that cared so much about everyone and even their outside work life if anything was wrong he would always try and make work easier for you.
the pay is minimum wage and a extra 10c i think on a Sunday. Should be more but better than nothing.
over all its not that bad you need to be thick skinned as some customers and managers are rude you cant let it get to your heart. You do make great life long friends there that make the day better when it wasnt busy we had great chats with all the staff on that shift great laughs and learned a lot about different cultures as there is a lot of different nationalities working there.

Needlessly stressful
McDonalds Crew (Former Employee) - Waterford - 18 October 2019
The environment is harder than most people would think. Fellow staff members were great but management was difficult to deal with. just feels like the job is more stress than its worth

I really enjoyed working there, good crew, flexible shifts, fun environment, the managers were so nice and patient, good pay as it was a franchisee, obviusly you must be an hard working person because it's busy, that's why you can't be bored

fun workplace
McDonalds Crew Member (Former Employee) - Galway - 22 July 2018
its above all a fun place to work.
There I learnt how the organizacion of a team has to be to work properly. As everything was perfectly ensambled in a way that they give the customer a fast and good service.
The hardest part of the job was the shifts as I use to do days or nights, was I didnt mind at that time but in a lorg term is not the best.
Pros
not responsibilities and easy job
Cons
shifts
