Stressful, restricting and negative.

When I started working here it was great as time went by it started getting worse after 2 months. CCTV System is outdated and kept braking. The two way. Radios are old, faulty and would never hold battery and most of the equipment is older than myself. The co workers all talk behind one another’s backs if your new you are a low priority member of staff in Bidvest Noonan security and there is never enough staff to effectively cover the facility and grounds that surround the MUH

Staff nurses

Very stressful job,if you are a staff nurse on the ward! The place is always understaffed, management are bullies and do not like any complaints and will blame you if you raise any issues about unsafe working environment. You will only succeed If you never complain and are ok with extremely high nurse patient ratio (1:16 at night is normal there, despite those patiemt being very sick, fully bedbound or high risk of falls etc) . Of course, if anything happened, they would blame you!

Pros

Nothing

Cons

Shifts often overrun

Its the best Hospital in Cork

The core values in the MUH are Compassion, Excellence, Justice, Respect and Team Spirit. All staff work as a team, there is strength in team work, they are the reason it has the excellent reputation that it has.

Good staff comradarie, patient interaction

The Mercy has good staff comradarie though it is a big company. The management are on a one to one basis with staff which can only be a good thing. There is a very good patient interaction between all staff and patients.. Again the Mercy likes to keep its ethos...and keep things small and personal.

Pros

Good relations, good care of clients. a nice working envoirment

Cons

not knowing when Im on duty!!
