Very stressful environment, very bad management structure.
Chill Depot Operative (Former Employee) - Cork - 6 May 2022
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedYou will be treated very poorly by management in Musgraves. They will lie through their teeth in the interview about the hours you will be working. You are expected to work as much overtime as they require of you, you will pull one or two 12 hour shifts a week, if you ask for the hours they initially told you that you would be working or at the very least less hours they will simply tell you to bunk on, or except the hours they give you.
Pros
Subsidized meals.
Cons
Long hours Draining

Warehouse Operative (Former Employee) - Cork, County Cork - 9 June 2022
The payment is the only thing is more brutal (shittier) than the job!!! The management very weak and I don’t think any of them have any idea why they are really there.

productive learning experience
Multi Drop Delivery Driver (Former Employee) - Cork, County Cork - 12 March 2022
I worked for Musgrave Wholesale Partners as a multi-drop van delivery driver through Excel recruitment. The van program was created by the Cork depot manager at the time to alleviate pressure from the rigid truck drivers by taking customers off their list which would be inconvenient. The program was very successful through the busy summer months. I enjoyed meeting Musgraves's customers which ranged from care homes small shops restaurants hotels, and all sorts. It was also a good way of learning about how the wholesale and logistics industry works. Work was hard in busy weeks but that's to be expected when working in such a successful company. An advantage is that due to the companies size there are many opportunities for promotion into new roles. There are many others jobs that Musgraves offer onsite that aren't as enjoyable as delivering. Most of these jobs are picking orders onto combis for Musgraves customers which is both very tedious and labor-intensive so caution is advised when accepting a job. I also think that Musgraves should and can very well afford to pay their labor force better due to the company's continued success and growth. Thanks again to all the supportive management.
Pros
Great learning environment
Cons
just be careful of labour intensive jobs in the company.

Multi Drop Delivery Driver (Former Employee) - Galway, County Galway - 6 January 2022
Truck driving is pretty much the same in every company so the reason for the single star is management and only management. They treat you like dirt, make unrealistic requests and don’t give a toss about your family commitments. This is not an attack from a disgruntled ex-employee. I’m over 20 years driving trucks and I’ve yet to see a more oppressive work environment. There are much better jobs elsewhere, don’t lower yourself to work for condescending mouthpieces who couldn’t start a truck let alone drive one.
Pros
None
Cons
No quality of life and constant abuse.

Productive workplace
GENERAL OPERATIVE (Current Employee) - Dublin, County Dublin - 8 December 2021
Decent company with 6 months probation period and then a possible permanent contract. Shifts are 10 hours, which means you get 3 days off per week and the possibility of extra shifts which are payed 1.5x and Sundays/Bank Hols 2x. Management is willing to help with any questions you might have.
Pros
Free coffee, tea and hot soup
Cons
Long hours - need few weeks to get used to

Horrible Workplace environment
Truck Driver (Former Employee) - Blanchardstown, County Dublin - 6 November 2021
Back breaking. Stressful. Very negative environment to be around. Long days. Over loaded trucks. A strict policy of get them out the gate and they're forgotten about. Cages are split with different locations giving you extra work all day trying to sort them and moving heavy trollies out of your way all day long. The "Management" are zero help with a horrible attitude to add to it. Some days were 5am starts until after 7 in the evening. Monthly Pay too. Horrible Place to work.
Pros
Zero.
Cons
Everything above

Jobs at Musgrave
Always expect more work done at same time targets
Operative (Former Employee) - Kilcock, County Kildare - 26 May 2021
It’s hard manual work and timed as if that was not enough they keep playing around with time to make people run harder and safety is out the window just on paper now you’re breaking your back and taking pain killers to meet the target atherwise you are out. Most of management are good and helpful to your face but you have to push hard if you need something done for you and only a few managers are nightmares. Job security 100% . Salary ok but work you do demands more.
Pros
Free cup of tea
Cons
Bad Shift patten lives you with no time for you

Productive
Temporary Contract (Former Employee) - Tramore road cork - 10 February 2021
Reliable . efficient and effective.it was very cold the culture was mainly Irish, the management were under pressure if the work was not done also I learned about your body clock and adjusting to sleep patterns can become hard when on nights for a long time, also a typical day at work I would pick for a. few hours then wrap combies onto truck so then the driver can deliver that morning.
Pros
Good breaks
Cons
Too many night work days

Avoid been a Cork depot driver
HGV Driver (Current Employee) - Cork - 4 February 2021
No Roster in place to let you know what day's you are working. You could have 4 different start times in a week varying from 2am to 8pm and everything in between. Management don't care about your family life or anything else for that matter.
Cons
No Roster varying start times..

Decent starter job, but not much else
Voice Picker (Current Employee) - Fonthill Retail Park, County Dublin - 11 December 2020
Working conditions strenous, you're forced to chase BSI which renders you prone to injuries. In order to obtain a decent BSI you have to move fast, often that means you have to disregard the manual handling training tips and expose yourself to various work hazards such as back or shoulder injuries. The wage is way too low for 10 hours of walking and moving heavy things. The management is paid way too much for being barely more than a glorified excel data entry personnel. Overall, the older floor staff were compensated much better because their unions were strong. There is barely any union consciousness among the new employees and it shows.
Pros
Cheap but good lunch
Cons
Long hours, long walks etc.

Very hard work for the money
Truck Driver (Former Employee) - Dublin - 26 October 2020
5.30am start, finish when you complete your delivers, 1st couple of weeks where ok as you are out with another driver shown you the route, but then you are on your own, pulling the sometimes very heavy trolleys up and down lanes, as most of the delivery's where in the Dublin 2&4 areas, (area I was delivering too)
Pros
Free tea
Cons
Long hours, heavy trolleys

Bad place for work
After changing management in Waterford depo for non experience ladies it start to be nightmare working there... No experience at all with transport, trucks are overloaded every morning and evening as well, frozen stuff it's loading on trucks without the freezer for example... And lot complains from customers every day ... Management don't care about people at all.. The head boss told me I have to work harder and do heaviest drops because I'm come like a last driver to the company, kind off discrimination. After work injury company don't care at all about me. The worst policy ever in there... Musgrave it's a place for people with no dignity. Worst management ever... Stay away from there
Pros
Free nothing
Cons
Around 5 tons ned to be unload manually every day from trucks with no help at all

Toxic (mind your mental health)
Toxic work environment, manager is never to seen, supervisors do little or nothing, HR is a basket case waiting for a law suit. Customers are ripped off with constantly changing prices on the same item in the same week and drivers are left embarrassed. CEO upstairs performs box ticking exercises. The abuse they get on social media among young people who have left due to the revolving door pre occupies their time. Most of the decent people are in constant fear of being called to the office. Frankly mind your mental health and steer clear
Pros
End of the working day
Cons
All of the above
