Smart people passionate about their work

I have loved my time at Oath. The people are smart, really care about the company, and there is a ton of potential for the place to grow. You can create your own path and work on a great variety of projects, you just need to take initiative.

Oath - formerly known as AOL was a fun place to work. I grew in my positions there. I appreciated the work-life balance it offered to its employees.

Ability to work from home, work-life balance, access to gym facilities and free food
Cons
Changes in strategy with merging companies; employees were reduced.

Wonderful place to work
Content Analyst & Knowledge Engineer (Former Employee) –  New York, NY15 December 2017
There is a lot of collaboration between teams and the office culture is inclusive and fun. A lot of employee benefits that are easy to take advantage of. It was always easy to communicate with supervisors and to follow through with projects.
Pros
Free lunch, healthcare, volunteer days, paid time off
Cons
Transition time for the company means job security isn't as high as it could be

SR. PRODUCT MANAGER (Current Employee) –  Sunnyvale, CA21 November 2017
Only old guards with strong network survive or get promoted in this old and clunky company. No clear expectation or no good work was given to me in my area.

Senior Strategist (Current Employee) –  Greater London10 October 2017
An opportunity arouse for a contract role at Yahoo (now Oath) the role originally started in the creative solutions team but due to the buy from Verizon the role has evolved in to a Senior Strategy role with a very heavy emphasis on the commercial side of things. Both roles, the original creative part and now commercial part has been a huge challenge and definitely pushed me outside of my agency comfort zone but it also ensured that I've added more strings to my bow.

Good starter job
Quality Assurance Clerk (Former Employee) –  New York, NY18 September 2017
Mostly entry level positions which are good starter jobs, but don't provide much room for growth. My most recent supervisor was great. Overall management is pretty good and will work with you.
Pros
Health insurance, balanced management
Cons
No advancement and low salaries

Makings of great culture - lots of work to do
Sr. Support Analyst (Current Employee) –  Burlington, MA28 August 2017
I've loved working at this company - the particular office is a really friendly and fun place to work. Problems tend to be challenging and interesting, and the product is worthwhile and meaningful.

There's been a lot of transition this year with mergers and acquisitions, which provides opportunities for the clever and motivated. However, there is a high degree of uncertainty - there has been one round of WFR already, and more are rumored to be coming.

Still, this is a very steady, solid white-collar job, and a lot of folks have families and have made a lifelong career, here.
Pros
Free lunches, great attitude and culture
Cons
Lots of uncertainty, job titles aren't great, advancement is slow

Clock in.
Answer the phones at the call center.
Go to lunch.
Answer the phones at the call center.
Clock out.

While the coworkers are great it still is a civil service job that crushes your spirit and locks you in without the possibility for advancement.

Hardest part is dealing with angry people.

The team is superb.
Pros
401k, Health insurance and Union.
Cons
Dealing with angry people.
