For the most part my experience at Oracle was very enjoyable. In your first 2 months of working in the sales team you are brought through some very intense but extremely valuable sales training courses.
Once training is over you are straight onto the sales floor. It is a fast paced working environment but can be highly cooperative.

While most people are very helpful a lot of the team leads were inexperienced and uncomfortable in their positions. It seems that most team leads were highly successful account managers who were promoted into the role of team lead without being tested for the requisite leadership skills.

More focus on product training would also go a long way. The sales training is excellent but a lot of sales people were going to client meetings without knowing much about the product they were trying to sell.
Pros
Great Benefits, Good Environment
Cons
Management needs improving

Oracle is a hugely enjoyable place to work and every member of the team are treated with respect no matter what the role. Management was excellent and was always there to solve any issues I had . The diverse cultural aspect of Oracle is hugely enjoyable and acts as a great learning experience.

A good company with excellent benefits and friendly colleagues. Company needs to improve and change in many ways. In particular they need to find ways to keep employees motivated. They also need to work more in terms of the direction the company is moving. At times it seems that there is no alignment, so that employees get frustrated.

The typical day varied from day to day.
I have learned about project management and the portfolio of Oracle products.

Very poor. They were in position because they have been there long and not because the knew how to be a manager.

Quite relaxed culture.

Account management is territory focused and specific.
Applications is a more competitive marketplace and sales process than the technology portfolio

How hard you work, is not always reflected in the benefits. It is hard to have a clear career path as the targets keep changing and there is no outlined process.

The Dublin operation is being downsized for a number of reasons but none have to do with the Covid-19 pandemic. In short, the Dublin operation was run into the ground by poor management, the same poor management will remain after the layoffs.

Oracle is a self service company. This is a positive as you as an individual have the power to drive your own career progression in the company. Expectations and targets change each year however being able to adapt to sudden changes is a bonus in any technology company.

Large stack of products, account managers for each. A lot of in fighting for business. Management does not change and very little room to advance. Have seen bullying culture which is unsavory. Management silo ed and are quiet territorial. Great Pay and Benefits

Oracle employed too many sales representatives to cover an immature cloud application market. Only a few people were lucky enough to sit on the right accounts and it was more like a lottery than an actual skillset. The senior management did not try to fix this and most people just end up leaving.
Pros
Great sales training and very modern offices
Cons
Lack of opportunities

Management is poor. No equity. Micro-management and no evolution or challenge exiting enough.
Bad reputation and bad atmosphere but really good products

This can be a difficult place to be depending on the product set and territory you cover. If you are lucky you might find yourself with a territory that is ready to embrace Oracle technology, if not it can be like pushing a boulder up a mountain, only to see it roll back down the other side.

Fast moving in the ever changing world of cloud, slightly lagging behind the market leaders so there can be staffing. culls from time to time if costs need to be cut. Salary and benefit generally pretty good.

Pro's are good work life balance, great benefits such as health insurance, parking, training, variety in jobs and activities, allow you to participate in hackathons, charity support is great with lots of support, huge product portfolio if you want to learn about lots of different things. Also internally in most cases more professional and supportive of the individual, so while not perfect I have seem much less professional behaviour elsewhere. People are generally really good, friendly, open. In terms of learning strategic selling, Oracle is up there with the best, and it will equip you with very good skills.

From a work standpoint there was no direction or leadership for an entry level employee. Lines of communication between people and departments were all over the place.
