Treated like dogs

This company does not value its staff. They work you long hours, they don't give you breaks, they treat you like a criminal if you miss a days work be it genuine or not. Don't work in PP retail !

Fair enough

Been working here years now but has changed for the worse down through the years. Used to be great bonus and the likes but not anymore. They care more about online than the shops. Management varys from shop to shop. District managers no help if you have problems within the shop. Rate of pay is ok

Pretty good

Power Tower is where you really want to get a job. The retail shops are ok but Power Tower is where the money is. There was only so much more I could do in the shops.

Dont waste your life here

Your just a number working every hr possible with no life, threatening abusive customers which the company do nothing about, because your just a number they can replace. Terrible pay also.

Only work here if you're stuck for cash.

Not a good working environment. No fairness with rotas. No cover for holidays (it is impossible to book time off). You are made feel guilty if you call in sick, I was out with a pretty serious illness for a few weeks and the roster coordinator asked "you're gone for the week so? Is THAT what you're telling me?" Can end up with 12/13 hour shifts. You'd be lucky to get a break. Everyone is looking out for number one. AVOID.

Great place to work

Paddy Power was a great place to work, with brilliant co workers. There are great opportunities to move along the career ladder and also great opportunities for pay increases.

No work life balance.

Hours are long. Work is fast paced and stressful. Clientele are not the nicest. Wages arent great. No lunch breaks. Training is good. advancement throughout the company can be achievement after a one year period.

You won't stay for long.

The positives included the fact that some of my colleagues were lovely people, and the Christmas bonus, that was about it. The negatives would include extremely poor, unqualified management who played favourites and treated the rest very poorly. Rota changed with very short notice. Rate of pay versus responsibility were not equal. Work took over, no time to have a life.

Only a handful of people work on the cool social media stuff...

Almost everybody has seen a funny advert, tweet, snap, insta etc from Paddy Power so they want to be a part of it but this team is quite small so you probably won't be a part of it. If you work on the Customer Service team then you are in for a tough job. You have to resolve a phone call within 90 seconds and you have to resolve an online chat within 3 minutes. There's screens everywhere with the sports on but you won't get a chance to see them due to the volume of calls. You will listen to gambling addicts, you will be called some awful names when you won't give a free bet or a payout. If you work in a non-customer facing role, then you will enjoy working here as the perks are good and the hours are regular.

Decent Job Stressful for Money

Some parts of the job are good but for the stress it's not worth the money. Shop managers can be helpful but sometimes it's too busy to help other times your so bored.

Worker

There is no support from anyone in Paddy Power. The management are to old fashion and set in there ways and are straight out bullies. They have taken most of the bonuses away and give you targets that there is no chance reaching. Some lovely workers met there but no one stays long enough because they are forced out.

Zero

Appalled with the reception and way I was treated, going back to work with PP after a long break, during which time I worked at other Betting Companies. I have over 25 years experience working in the Betting Industry. There is Zero Staff relations and very poor customer service. All younger inexperienced staff who THINK they know EVERYTHING!!! were treated. tone

Horrible hours

Most of the staff were great. Not great hours.. never get weekends off unless you request it so you can't plan anything. Very poor work life balance. Management only look after themselves.

Ok if you enjoy doing all your hours together

You will work long hours and be working weekends and bank holidays. If you enjoy having a social life this is not for you. It can be great fun but it’s st a fast pace too

Pros

You can work full time in 3 days per week

Cons

Long hours

Good place to work if you're in the right shop!

Paddy Power can be a great place to work if you make it into the right shop. They differ so much depending on customer footfall, management and location. So no review can be considered 100% reliant and I can only speak from my own experience. Pros: Customer culture - if you're the type of person that greets people with a smile every day and gets to know your customers then it can be a very positive working environment. Flexibility - while you need to be flexible to work any days, it is nice to have some week days off to run errands that you can't run over the weekend. Similarly, even though shifts are long, it means you can get your hours covered in three or four days in the week and might get three or four days off. Salary - Salary is decent. Everyone starts on minimum wage but there is opportunity to progress. In-house hiring - PP advertise positions in house and are big on hiring shop staff for the "big jobs" in head office. Cons: In-House Hiring - because PP hire in-house, sometimes people begin jobs that they're not qualified for. This is particularly evident in the helpdesk (where you ring when there's a problem with a docket ie: no result, not settling, etc) - some of these people have ZERO product knowledge and often they will tell you they can't help. Management - In PP, people are promoted to management positions based on time served, not qualification or experience. There are so many shop managers that have no managerial qualities, are computer illiterate (ironically) and there seems to be no plans to upskill them regularly. Breaks - non -

Pros

flexibility

Cons

bad management

Work horse

The only thing I can say good is the people who were also customer service agent were great people but from a management side they are only put for themselves as they would happily stab anyone in the back just to keep there job breaks were extremely short as you only get four 15 minutes breaks throughout the day also depending how long your shift was and little to no room for moving up the ladder as people do not want to move from there positions also there is little training given and you are held accountable for the most littlest mistakes even though you are not taught much about the in house software that is used

Pros

Fellow customer service agents

Cons

Long hours short breaks bad training and little cared about people's well-being and stress levels

Extremely principle oriented yet balanced

Amazing support from management and helping mentors. A superb place to work at! Too many projects simultaneously taken up was a tough task to handle but good management helped the projects through.

Pros

Good cafeteria, good systems, late night cabs and friday beers and pizza

Cons

could overwork occasionally but the teams are good and they will help you out

Fun place to work

The main thing i like about working for Paddy Power is that no day is the same. I have really developed my customer service skills since joining Paddy Power. If you are willing to work hard, it is a great company to progress in. The most enjoyable part of working here is definitely the customers, we get to meet people from every walk of life.

Pros

Working 4 days a week

Cons

Long hours
