Under-appreciated staff, bullying tactics from management
supervisor (Former Employee) –  ireland7 January 2019
Shocking staff turnover, at all levels, not a care from head office to query this? Nothing the staff ever did was good enough, managers being sent in from other stores bullying staff, morale appalling. Staff being used by being temporarily promoted when positions were vacant, and then demoted when it suited management. Micromanaging and constant interference by area manager.
Pros
hard-working colleagues
Cons
nothing ever good enough, staff underappreciated and undermined

Assistant Manager (Former Employee) –  Ireland3 December 2017
I was very unfortunate to have worked for this company in Ireland. Extremely poor morale within the store among all staff despite store managements efforts. This was mostly due to the area managers incompetence and constant negativity towards the store management team and the store.
There was no support from anyone at a senior level so you felt you were constantly struggling in helping to achieve stores targets.
Bullying tactics are widely used and head office choose to be ignorant when it comes to these matters.
AVOID if you like working in retail.
Pros
Fantastic customer advisors in store
Cons
Poor salary, no support, unrealistic targets, incompetent area manager

boring but enjoyable job.
Customer Advisor (Former Employee) –  Dublin30 August 2017
A typical day in Pavers would consist of assisting customers all day to reach sales targets and ending off the day with doing the bins and counting the tills.
I learned how to be very pleasant with customers and always being enthusiastic and also learned to work to reach a target and being
under pressure.
The management off the shop was very unreasonable with employees i witnessed a lot of staff leaving during my placement there as they exhausted people and took advantage of them.
The shop was usually very quiet therefore the job consisted a lot of standing around waiting for a customer to approach you when eventually one came in.
The hardest part of the job was assisting a group of people together for example old ladies coming from a nursing home as its a difficult situation to handle when its only one person , especially as they continuously request and leave shoes all over the shop for you to clean up , i had no complaints nonetheless as it kept me busy and i liked a challenge.
Most enjoyable part of the job was satisfying a customers needs and them being thankful as it is always a good feeling putting a smile on someones face.
Pros
in store discounts
