reallly liked working here. Fun and lots of money earned. great people and great competing and incentives. I would like to work here again but I felt it was best to leave as there was a lot of mis- selling happening and I did not like that.

Stay away

No basic, very poor commissions...stay away. They expect you to go to business without any expenses being covered whilst you are on commission only and even when the commissions are paid they are very low.

Great role with excellent support for progress and development

Plan your own diary. Manage the whole business cycle from lead generation, risk assessments, digital application, terminal installations to ongoing after service for feedback & referrals. Great webinar training to keep you accredited and up to date with industry changes.

Pros

Flexibilty and great earning potential, commissions paid out quickly.

Cons

No sales = no money, commission only role no basic salary.

Nice area

Short term contract, high job turnover. Nice area to work in, long hours, face to face contact required with some customers, although alot is over the phone

Don't do the BDM role

BDMs are self employed and Payment Sense pays commission only on closed sales. The chip & PIN market is extremely competitive, it is very hard to sell and they pay very low commission not even worth the effort. They don't care about BDMs .. They are happy if you stay for 6 months then go.

Handle your own pipeline

The market place is very tough at the moment for the card processing industry. Many players offering similar products at similar prices with optional add ons. Paymentsense pride themselves on their fast set-up process which is...well...really fast. Applications online can be processed and the terminal delivered and set up in three days. The support is good when you start but you are tasked with gaining every lead, every contact for yourself. The commission structure and earning potential has recently been stretched further from the hands of sales execs with extensions to minimal earning requirements for entry to their top tier of commission. Coupled with the fact that their Cap On Tap product was withdrawn from the field sales execs the week I started didn't go down too well as it is now only authorised through their telesales department. Sales and tech support is sketchy at best. You do feel like you're an encumbrance when phoning for help - or maybe that's just my fragile ego. Don't expect the level of service to be the same as if you were working in a salaried position. In my experience it is not. Paymentsense offer 4 and a half days of intensive training in Hull for their new starters and it is very comprehensive. There is, however, no substitute for getting out there and doing it to make you really feel that you don't know it all and there's plenty left to learn. Paymentsense expect you to cold call/visit between 30 to 50 customers per day to hit their advertised salary of £50,000 per year. Some agents are making this, and more, so it is not impossible. -
