I worked in the Food flavour plant in Little Island cork. PepsiCo are an excellent company to work for and I would highly recommend it as a company. From Management to operations staff the work culture is fantastic. Professional yet flexible make PepsiCo a very good place to work.

Good at first

Starting out everything is great. As soon as you get hurt or have an actual complaint you are turned into public enemy #1. The favoritism is mind blowing. Management will do all they can to protect their friends and will threaten you with termination of you speak up. Would not recommend.

Pros

Pay

Cons

Bad management, poor work environment

Good Pay but must be willing work alot

Not a bad job to have. You get paid well for the work you do. I have no complaints other than the work/life balance and maybe the days off. Just have to be willing to work so much. Paychecks will look nice, but you’ll also feel tired, stressed, and feel like you have no life outside of work.

Pros

Good pay

Cons

Work/Life

Overall a good job with good pay

Overall a good job if you're willing to work for it. I like that when you finish your route for the day you are done. After learning and getting good at the job a typical day is 8-10 hours. Learning curve to the job. Management is ok overall, pretty supportive. Stand offish co-workers and managers at first due to the high turnover. Unless you've been at the company for 5+ years there is lots of forced overtime. Least favorite parts of the job is getting forced to work on the weekends doing a job I didn't sign up for (merchandising). Not that great of a work/life balance and it is hard on the body. Side load trailer that is not built to order is inefficient and seems very dated.

Pros

Good pay, benifits, job perks

Cons

Forced overtime, work almost every weekend

No advancement growth, treated poorly by Walmart

Its a hard physical job. Coca cola pays almost 3 dollars an hour more. Smaller accounts were fun to service. All walmarts treat you poorly. Not much room for advancement. Good insurance. But raises are not much. This job will wear and tear on your body fast.

Pros

Breaks anytime, laid back unless your in walmart

Cons

To many to list

Great place to work -excellent culture

Management do not have a duty of care even though they say they do. Lots of box ticking and protocols.Staff are worked incredibly hard and expected just to get on with it often without even taking breaks/ lunch. Looks good on your cv and they do have some fantastic brands.

Pros

Freebies

Cons

Unrealistic expectations

does not believe in family

they will work you to death then work you some more, they dont care if see your kids grow up or not. they dont care if you make it to your child's graduation. they care only about producing. pay isnt bad though. work isnt hard. just dont plan on having days off.

Pros

pay

Cons

no time off, cant plan anything.

Learn new skills

Great place to learn new skills. Shoot for an equipment hub. Union job, so the health insurance isn't expensive at all. The only negative is the fact that corporate thinks everything that looks good on paper will always work in real lice.

Pros

Pay and union insurance.

Cons

Management doesn't always communicate efficiently.

Seasonal worker

Great place to work and pay is awesome as well. But as a seasonal worker you only have six months and your assignment is over unless a full-time position opens up. That's highly unlikely due to ppl not leaving or wanting to retire!!!

Pros

Pay, benefits, employee perks, and gifts for safety awards

Cons

Seasonal workers aren't guaranteed a job......six month and you're gone!!

Has the potential to be a good work place

The job has really good pay and really good benefits . Job however is not a good fit if your looking for a good work/ home life balance,if you are button seniority then expect to work 6 or 7 days a week during the summertime.

Great

Not much growth, but with right leadership you could traverse three roles in a year. Production vs. maintenance is an issue, as well as changing marketing trends affects morale.

Apply at your own risk

Pepsi is a decent job to work for if you have a short-term financial goal or okay with minimal work life balance. I worked up to 89 hours one week and not because I wanted too. You get two days off but most times you are forced in on your off day; forced as in not up for debate once the supervisor tell you that you have to come in on your off day. It's an union job so they can keep you there up to 16 hours if the job isn't complete. They can be very understaffed sometimes with call outs or not having enough people on the team. This makes your shift longer because you can't leave until all the trucks are loaded. Warehouse supervisor are not honest during the hiring process which is why the turnover rate is high. Everything is done by seniority from breaks, time you leave, time off, etc.. Only good thing about this job is if you really need money, the opportunities are there. A few guys work almost 90 hours a week willingly, so you can make up to 1,400+ a week if you want.

Pros

Decent pay, benefits, sometimes giveaways

Cons

Work life balance, dishonest supervisors

Training and management could improve

Management could improve by training their employees the right way instead of feeding them to the wolves... just to have another merchandiser pick up the slack
