Great place to work, Life sentence to an off shift
Master Electrician (Former Employee) –  Allegan, MI16 October 2018
Perrigo is a clean environment that offers great benefits, high pay, good culture, every kind of help you can imagine. The only drawback to the Job is it takes a long time to move to a daytime position without a degree. Trades people are considered as equal to production people in the eyes of management so seniority to move to day shift comes into play as apprentices are added into the maintenance program.
Pros
Clean, good pay and benefits, great management.
Cons
off shift for a long period of time.

Stressful long hours
Instrument Technician (Current Employee) –  Georgia, VT24 July 2018
Long 12 hour shifts that alternate from week to week. Night shift is a grueling shift to endure for any length of time. The facility is clean and well lit. The employees are easy to work with. The management is lacking. Communication plant wide is very lacking especially when it comes to getting night shift information. The environment can be difficult at certain times of the year but the company does a pretty good job at providing places to cool down and during the hot months, re hydration stations for employees. Overall a decent place to work if it wasn't for the 12 hour shift. Work/Life balance is poor for the night 12 hour shift and bearable for the 12 hour day shift.
Pros
Paid lunch, good benifits
Cons
Long hours

Good money but bad life
Tablet Mix Specialist (Former Employee) –  Allegan, MI27 November 2018
Do you enjoy walking on egg shells because if you do then perrigo is the place for you. Make a mistake and you get the axe so fast without a second thought. They have very strict rules for a reason but they could always give someone a second chance but they don't do that. Also a lot of the people that work there are only there to make sure they move up so if you get in the way they will find a way to work with someone in charge to get you fired. I saw it several times before it happened to me. Perrigo is about who you know and not how you work. Also if you were in the military and want to get a good job go to perrigo and become a supervisor. They love minorities and veterans.

You will gain a tremendous amount of experience at Perrigo.
Manager (Former Employee) –  Allegan, MI13 October 2018
The people are great to work with and employees work hard for the company but management styles vary greatly between departments.
You will work hard at Perrigo and gain a lot of experience which you can take to your next position, whether that is within Perrigo or outside of Perrigo. (Moving up within Perrigo usually requires changing departments.)
Pros
Benefits, compensation, people

Life at Perrigo
Lead Compounder (Current Employee) –  Bronx, NY2 October 2018
Perrigo is a fast paced work environment where much is required and expected. Although compensation is decent, shift availability is extremely competitive. If you dont mind waiting for years until an opportunity to move up in a company, Perrigo shouldn't be a problem. In fact, I recommend it highly. GOOD LUCK!
Pros
Decent Pay for Anybody Not College Credited
Cons
Challenging Schedule for Somebody With a Family

Staff issues
Packer (Former Employee) –  Braunton, Devon10 December 2018
Overall my time at perrigo was not the best. Some of the staff are lovely and helpful but some the complete opposite. Bullying and lies on a daily basis. You are never secure until you are made permanent which can take months even years... senior operators think they’re better than the operators and packers. Breaks are unpaid. You have to be there early to change into protective clothing which is unpaid. Management are not understanding at all! Don’t care about any health issues including mental health. If you have family working here don’t bother you cannot be seen together including walking down the corridor after a break especially couples! Only positive thing I can say is it pays well especially if you’re under 21 you will still get £9.40. You get meals cooked on site which change daily but you do have to pay. The hours are great they change from morning to lates weekly. It isn’t the easiest job but you learn.
Pros
Good pay, on site cooked meals
Cons
Unkind staff, unpaid breaks, bullying

A nice place to work
Scientist (Current Employee) –  Allegan, MI26 September 2018
Overall Perrigo R&D was a nice place to work, the people who work there are friendly and helpful. Management is no more frustrating than at any other large company. The only downside was the lower than average pay.

Friendly work environment

Perrigo wellness plan is first person to 400 pounds gets a gift card to village inn. Alot of favoritism expected butt kissing and generally fat lazy people more worried anout setting up their buffet at break for 90 minutes than do any work on their weekend to work. Bosses hide in office, have no clue to the culture they dream of, but will never attain with their meth head employees.

Goin home

Good benefits and relaxed environment
Financial Analyst (Former Employee) –  Martin, MI15 March 2018
Depending on what department you work in and for whom you work will depend largely on how you view the company as a whole. The laid back environment has given way to a large informality and lack of common etiquette in speaking about other employees. This was observed in some of the management staff and was a bit disturbing to hear. Other than that the benefits offered by the company were good and comparable to other companies. The HR staff lacked sufficient people skills but I attributed that to the many layoffs that occurred. As a whole the company looks good on paper however the lack of stability within the company for several years took a toll on the staff. This can be a good company to work for however there should be a change in some of the management. I can see a lack of discernment as the management due to being at their position for extended lengths of time.

It’s the people
Maintenance Technician (Former Employee) –  Covington, OH20 March 2018
The people on the floor are horrible. Not one would I actually want to speak to outside of work. If you challenge their way of doing business in any way you will be lied on, cheated, backstabbed, and attacked. What is funny is they do it to each other as much as they do to any new hire. It’s a toxic environment. It is supposed to be a part of a larger company but the management treat it as if it’s their own little shop of horror. Though I liked my managers they are unable to help you. If they put their necks out on the line for you the people on the floor turn on them. Seen it happen and corporate had to bring in attorneys to depose everyone.
Pros
Great work
Cons
Horrible people, back stabbing, false accusations to get you fired, high school all over again but with adults

Corporate Security Officer (Current Employee) –  Allegan, MI10 June 2018
Great pay and benefits. Employees are treated very well. Too many decisions are made in a vacuum. More input from employees and different functional areas is needed. Some managers are fearful of their own futures and let that impede their work.
Pros
Great pay and benefits
Cons
Lack of defined career path

Great first job
Lab Technician I (Former Employee) –  Allegan, MI19 March 2018
This was a great first job to get industry experience. The training program is very extensive, and they provide all work required needs, including shoes. The lab dress code was casual, as long as it met the safety requirements. They do tend to hire more contract workers, and as such you miss out on the benefits package. Once you have been with the company for awhile there is a chance to be hired on full time. The lab was well staffed and supplied. Entry level positions are primarily filled for 2nd, 3rd, or weekend shifts. However, the schedule is very fair. You work 4-10 hour days, and overtime is paid and encouraged. The only real job advancement opportunities are for a different shift, or to get out of the lab. The work is constant and self motivated. You choose which projects you want to work on per night, with the input of the supervisor to guide you with priorities and skill requirements. You can request time off, you just don't get paid for the hours that you didn't work.
Pros
Great place to gain experience
Cons
Located in the middle of nowhere

Production Supervisor (Current Employee) –  Bronx, NY20 September 2018
Lots of wonderful people willing to help and see you learn. Competitive environment driven to meet production numbers. HR enacts great efforts to make it fun; connect 4 , karaoke, face and buster outings, the biggest loser challenge with focus on promoting a healthy lifestyle.

My job at perrigo was a physically demanding job, i worked a lot with my co-workers that were also your friends. The management there was good for the most part, a lot of different managers over 15 years but we got thru it.
Pros
Good Benefits, good pay, good chance for advancement
Cons
This job was physical, it also could be loud, could be dirty due to colors, powders, and mixes, and possibly dust.

Area Trainer (Former Employee) –  Allegan, MI30 May 2018
I liked the management, the engineers, supervision, pretty much everyone, except the people who worked with me. I worked in a couple of different areas, and buildings. It just depended on who of your crew you knew really well. Sometimes you got crewed to a line where the lead didn't like you so your day would suck. Other times it was like everything flowed really well.
Pros
Company Store is a major help to any family.
Cons
Allegan is very far away from where I live.
