Negative care towards there staff
Social care worker (Former Employee) –  South28 October 2019
I have had an extensive career in social care.I worked in 3 long term positions prior to working with PC. Very inexperienced management, Female Regional managers are ruthless.they are on a power trip which is unhelpful in this line of work. I saw no leadership either. Alot of bullying and favouritism unhealthy communication between some workers and managers.

For Profit- Terrible company to work for
Social Care Worker (Former Employee) –  Cork14 October 2019
There is a culture of penny pinching and getting the maximum from every employee. In an industry centred around care, the care and well being of employees is definitely not a priority for management. Forced by the labour relations committee to pay minimum wage for being at work overnight, often sleeping on a few couch cushions on the floor.
Extremely challenging work environment made harder by the company ethos of "everyone is replaceable". The glossy sales pitch on the recruitment website is misleading. They do not invest in employee education. They treat their employees with contempt. Top down culture of not caring and just being motivated by profit. Huge staff turnover.

Supportive workforce
Was a Key worker (Former Employee) –  Longford21 January 2019
I worked here for two years. I moved on fro geographical reasons but have to say I loved working in my house. We had a great team and supportive manager. Very child focused. Very tough at times but it balanced out with great fun times with the Young People also. Manager in house always trying to organise little events fr the young people which is lovely. Learned a lot and great culture.
Pros
supportive team and manager

some days are harder than others

Horrible, bullying place to work
Staff Member (Former Employee) –  Unit houses29 November 2018
From start to finish their policy is nothing but blame from the top down. No matter how well you done a job or put in extra for them you were wrong.
Ridiculous staff turn over, lies about full time work. No one listens to problems if you show them and expect you to cover them up instead or blame someone else.
Regional managers bully unit managers and then it does go down the chain.
Never work there if you can avoid it.
Pros
Some real nice staff
Cons
Too many awful staff

Avoid this company
Social Care Worker (Former Employee) –  Ireland7 June 2017
Extremely difficult young people.
Very poor management style, too many young inexperienced unit managers.
Staff placed in very dangerous situations with little support.
Phoning the gardai for assistance is frowned upon.
Following any incidents, staff are criticised for how they handled the situation.
Strong focus on the use of restraints.
24 hour shifts.

Profit orientated company with no value placed on employees
Management (Former Employee) –  Waterford city, County Waterford24 March 2017
This company is more interested in portraying themselves as good employers with excellent career opportunities. Places no value on staff and processes are tick box exercises and are not productive or meaningful. No work life balance, no consideration given to employees personal circumstances or family commitments. No balance of experience in staff teams. Inappropriate communication methods between management and team. Staff being directed on what to and what not to say during inspections. I would never recommend this company at any level.

Childcare Leader (Current Employee) –  Wicklow14 December 2016
I've worked my way up in the company and met some genuine people. Not every day is easy but that's residential childcare. I've been working in the same centre for a while now and seeing progress with the kids is what it's all about. Staff have gone on team days the company pay for. You get paid to do training here too.
Pros
Free training, team days

challenging poor culture and ethos toward staff
relief panel (Former Employee) –  dublin8 November 2014
PCI are disorganised. Their job culture and ethos is of a poor standard from the off. A potential employee gives much commitment in time and finance only to discover that the job for which they applied is not actually available. The company are serial recruiters which might explain a number of concerns, unhappy staff, supporting my opinion of a poor culture, whilst the company are not breaking any employment law, they are certainly not entering into the spirit or best practice of employment legislation in respect of recruitment practice. Advice save your efforts paper and money, unlikely to secure work.

Mangment Team (Current Employee) –  Dublin, 126 March 2014
Each day brings new challenges both from the Young People we work with and the varied skills and attitudes of the employees. Learning from these people and encouraging positivity and self development is a large part of my role.
