Support Worker in Navan, County Meath

Don’t bother
Poor Management. No care for any workers or service users. Payroll don’t care whether you get paid or not. No extra money for nights or Sundays. Hard to take annual leave. Extra shifts are a must, just expected to take them up. No such thing as 39 hours a week expected to go over your monthly hours whether you like it or not. The company is just not ran properly. Toxic schemes.

Avoid
Avoid at all costs - management are unqualified for the role and culture is all about WHO you know now what you know So many things being brushed under the carpet - the carpet will be taken from under them and all will be exposed with this shambles of a service I worked in

No support in your role
What you see is not what you get. Big ideas when it comes to training that is far far from the reality of working for Praxis Care. Little support in your role. Expected to get on with life after being assaulted. More interested in paper work same then making staff feel like they’ve missed managed the situation. Pity for the lovely service users that they’re responsible for.

Good balance of home and work life
Good place to work staff are well looked after ,, and it’s very much about the service user .Your Rita is given way in advance so you can actually plan things which is very important when you have a family.

I went for an interview with them. They asked 6 questions all about teamwork, PCP's, they were very interested in medication management, how would I handle challenging behaviour etc. I'll mention that I didn't get the job, they didn't even get back to me at all.
