If you don't want to have a life and constantly be under stress, this is the job for you. No matter how you say no, management does not understand. It's not physically or mentally possible to assign this much work and have it all done.
Pros
It's accounting, don't know if there's any pros
Cons
No work/life balance

Workplace culture is not great. Great company to learn at your job and compensation benefits. Not a great place for work place balance or maintaining trusted relations. Some people however is very supportive of your growth. Typical day at work can be very exciting

The jobs for Contractors are cutthroat. For me, it was a bait and switch tactic (hired for one position, changed completely when came aboard/on-site). The company did not provide space for us to sit and the company employees were very very rude. I had a project manager that was a complete — , very disorganized, rude and would often have meltdowns. the compensation was ok but not worth the grief.

As with any consulting firm, life at PwC varies. One day it can be hectic, the next calm. If you find yourself in an industry/practice you do not like, it is extremely difficult to pivot. This is great if you find something you love. Otherwise, it can be quite the killer with long hours.

PwC does provide flexibility to work from home when you're not at the client site.

Management tries new ideas to increase learning like improving automation capabilities. However, time is not truly set aside from client work and people are not able to learn these skillsets without adding to already long workdays. Most of the time, teams find easy ways to accomplish management goals on paper, while breaking the spirit of the activity. You can't really blame the teams that do this due to the already large demands placed upon them.

I learned a wide variety of skills at PwC. Core skills in presenting and analyzing data will take you far in any career. The workplace culture seeks to support you well but it can also be prone to burnout.

Big 4 consulting firm. Good place to work, good culture - Tough to get in front of leadership. Can advance quickly if you do the right things and know the right people.

Typical day at work included meetings, spreadsheets, powerpoint decks, and emails. I learned how to manage my time, projects, and people. Management on projects is hit and miss since one typically gets a new project team every go around. This job requires self-reliance, determination, and accountability, especially if you are not on a project.

A lot depends on the group one gets assigned to. Pay is good, travel can be tiring for most weeks. More job security than some other consulting firms. Integration with Strategy& has been a challenge. Frequent org redesigns should be stopped.

Very, very intense environment. Expect long hours, travel and very little work-life-balance. But it is a great learning experience and you work with very smart individuals.

In my experience, PwC has an extreme competitive environment where resources prefer to work as individual contributors vs as a cohesive team. Differences among resources are often used as trigger points to malign, divide, and conquer individuals rather than identifying one's strengths and utilizing them to the best of their abilities.

PwC is a company of many diverse yet non-integrated cultures. In fact, PwC has acquired several business entities to grow its consulting practice. As a result, many different corporate cultures existing and none too complementary with each other.

External hires are brought on board without thought to how to integrate them and support their success. PwC readily hires experienced professionals who cannot and will not get along well with others, seeking to further their own personal agendas - often not screened for their ability to work as a team player.

If you are a young, motivated individual that wishes to succeed in corporate America, there are few better places to begin your career. The hours are grueling during busy season, often you will find yourself working 14 - 15 hour days Monday - Friday and eight hours on Saturday and Sunday. Beyond busy season you will find a lot of flexibility. Working at PwC you will be surrounded by the brightest people in the field and will be enabled with resources far beyond what other employers can offer.
Pros
Prestige, surrounded by intelligent people, resources
Cons
Unhealthy hours during busy season.

PricewaterhouseCoopers is a nice place to get your career started but requires long hours performing manual work that does not allow a lot of learning or career growth.
