PwC has been treating their employee fairly with good compensation and equal opportunity. The culture is more relax but definitely still some overtime. There is a strong sense of digitalization with the company

Overall very good company to work for with smart people, great clients, solid pay and benefits. The part of the organization where I was employed did not live up to the top tier reputation PwC enjoys in other parts of their business. It was a sales oriented role and managers actually attached themselves to deals they did not work. While flexible and competitive, the culture of my group was ineffective at retaining good people. Since I left, there had been reorganization within this part of the organization.
Pros
Smart people, great clients, solid pay and benefits, flexibility, well respected in the market
Cons
Clickish leadership, lack of team culture

Great if you like getting yelled each day by directors, yes I said yelled at. Discrimination, boys club, this place is the typical h*ll for lack of better term and honestly I'd rather never thing about david sisko and his financial services practice ever again.

Good diversity, especially in offices on the coasts

Things get political as you move up.

The nature of the job makes it hard to feel accomplished at the end of the day.

PwC is a great place to work and the culture is very laid back, but if you're in the LA M&A practice and want to reduce the travel to a minimum or take a break from it, it's very hard given the lack of clients in the area.

Generally, you would work on a client site 4-5 days per week. Client engagements could last from 3-weeks to 3-months or more. The team at PwC is highly competent and drives you to results (in a motivating and good way).

As an LLP, the firm is run like an LLP (the biggest rewards are at the top -- partner and higher). This, of course, makes everyone strive for these roles. Fortunately, the environment was very collaborative.

You'll learn a lot, you will get stretched to perform, and you will be highly rewarded.

Work life balance is supported but if you are in tax, you are expected to sacrifice life while in busy season. Long hours in september october and april.

PwC is similar to the other Big 4 Firms with very long hours, tons of metrics and intense competition between very smart people. The most difficult aspect of the job was the abundance of metrics (more than 22).

The raises are very minimal and not based on individual performance, bonuses are small and also not based on the individual. However, the flexibility is great.

Some very smart people working there but HR wastes time in laying traps for people who leak info.
They have nothing better to do but watch out although their traps are akin to ones set by kindergarteners so you see them a mile away.

PwC was a fast paced and competitive work environment. As a director, I enjoyed the freedom to make decisions and manage a team. The work was challenging and I enjoyed working on solving complex problems for some of the largest companies in the world. I also enjoyed training and mentoring young professionals as they started their careers in professional services. However, the partners managed the firm by the numbers and they evaluate employee performance by more than a dozen different metrics. It always seemed like they had cause to terminate anyone at anytime with cause because it was so difficult to keep all the metrics in positive territory simultaneously. Last, it was an extremely competitive workplace environment due to the limited availability of opportunities to join the partnership. The competition in the office sometimes produced undesirable outcomes and poor client service.
Pros
Challenging and interesting work, professional development training, career mentorship
Cons
Job security & office culture

Management does not micro manage. They expect to bring your talents to the table and perform as a professional should. Outstanding leading company in the financial services industry. I would contract for PwC in the future. Great experience.
Pros
Great assignments and team to work with on a daily basis. Pros in the business!
Cons
None.

big 4 accounting is a grind and super boring. For the most part, so are the people, but you do have upward mobility. Don't come here expecting anything glamorous.

The training and resources provided by PwC is pretty unbeatable for a first job. Lots of exposure to different types of businesses and projects ensures continuous growth. You will be leading meetings within the first few months of joining. Lots of autonomy in terms of HOW you get your work done (work from home, flexible hours), but almost no autonomy in terms of WHAT you get to work on. Very heavy travel, but very generous travel budget (e.g. $100/day for food). Opportunities for international travel. Not a great place to meet people if you're in a new city as you will be working on projects with people from all over the country/world.
Job security is almost guaranteed, however promotion is not. They won't fire you, but instead they just won't promote you. Promotion is also hardly influenced by merits for staff, it's all metrics. Even if you are a star you will still have to wait 3 yrs for promotion.
Pros
Opportunity to travel, training, great office (if you ever make it in), work from home, good benefits
Cons
long hours sometimes, promotions only every 3 years, very little say in what projects you are assigned to

Good place to work. Flexible and professional environment.
Limited advancement for IFS as many roles were reduced this past year. Remote work arrangements was the best perk for working parents. Flex schedule.

Really nice people willing to help and assist you. Willing to let you try out different specialties within tax like international, FS, PCS.
Pay is low in comparison to other business jobs. Also be aware in school they tell you that it is possible to switch other service lines like from Tax to Advisory. However, someone told me it is much harder than you think.

YOu work extremely hard only to sit back every two years and wonder if you will be apart of their planned layoffs and then watch them bring in a whole new team. What happen to communication and employee development if that is what was needed, but to just drop people after 10 years of service is HORRIBLE.

Great culture. Enjoyed the projects. High profile clients. Work / life balance is challenging, but not specific to PwC - that is consulting in general.
