Very stressful
Service Technician (Former Employee) - Limerick, County Limerick - 26 December 2022
S**t stay away , honestly the worst place I ever worked . Managers constantly ringing you even on your days off and even after hours, this resulted in me turning off the phone after finishing every day , then get mad then you don’t answer the phone even while on lunch break . Constantly ringing you with new jobs to get done on top of your own portfolio which needs to be done . I started in the middle of covid and places were very fair behind. When entering some company’s your the face they see so a lot of shouting . I honestly don’t blame them as they are not getting the service they signed up for . Serious amount of fraud goes on . I could start but I won’t . There is one person working in the office who has a very high opinion of herself . When a staff member rang in sick I was left to cover a different county for a week and then roared at me for my own area getting into s**t .
Pros
Turning the phone off after a busy and very stressful day
Cons
None

Friendly, relaxed atmosphere, great people
Service driver washroom (Current Employee) - Wexford - 15 December 2022
Currently working as a service driver for the washroom side for approximately 4 months. Thoroughly enjoy what I do, management very friendly and helpful. They have problems, (as most large organisations do), but do their best to overcome these. Customers are great, but then I very much enjoy meeting new people and creating rapport. I have no intention to leave as the job suits me perfectly. Hours of work are normal, sometimes the odd early start. Plenty of exercise doing the job, van/phone supplied, fuel card, ppe supplied, wages are OK. As long as you do your weeks work, show up every day and treat all items that belong to initial with respect, then you will be left to get on with it. Nothing wrong with working for this company.
Pros
Van, phone.
Cons
None

Productive and very interesting
Pest Control Technician (Current Employee) - Dublin, County Dublin - 25 October 2022
I am with Rentokil almost two years. It does have it's bad moments but these are few and far between, on a day to day basis it requires a good level of communication and customer service skills. Good investigative/eye for detail skills and initiative. For me, some knowledge of construction, building services is an advantage, I find that I use this knowledge everyday. But it is not just about Pest control, it is about protecting Human and Animal life, property, and to prevent the spread of disease, so this makes pest control an absolute essential service. The best part of this employment for me is sorting out an issue for a client, and making them happy, whether the client is a big factory or a homeowner the feeling is the same. Opportunities for advancement are there, whether it is a Supervisor, Sales and field biologist, the roles are there.
Pros
95% of customers are friendly, this makes life a lit easier, opportunities for advancement, van, freedom, online training.
Cons
Some days can be long and busy, particularly going into the winter months.

Prductive, a job with some flexibility
Technician (Current Employee) - Dublin, County Dublin - 18 September 2022
Its a fair company, some positions comes with a car, like pest control technician, supervisor, surveyor. The work includes driving from customer to customer every day. They provide full training and career progress. Overtime is avaliable most of the time and other extre potential of income. Me personally have a brilliant Supervisor. This work is not hard physically, but you need to be able to confront sometimes things. With good work ethic and a willing to work you could have a career there.
Pros
Company car, good supporting team, correct company, career progress possibilities, extra income possibilities, working from the road instead of office
Cons
Sometimes can time pressure on you if you are not organized, dealing with pests

Pay is absolutely brutal and complete breakdown in communication between managers and team leaders
Field Technician (Former Employee) - dublin - 8 June 2022
This was over a year ago, doubt anything has changed. I'd actually put the house on it First of all the interview process is absolutely ridiculous for a minimum wage entry level job where you will be dealing with customers that are being neglected and treated terribly The field training is done by dated staff members that have zero people or communication skills and you are sent on the road with inadequate training for the job. You are given lists of customers already too large to service adequately. On top of that you are bombarded daily with jobs from other drivers that are in awful states and expected to pick up their slack due to short staffing and high turnaround in staff. If they payed employees a decent wage they might actually stay there for longer than a few months. You get better pay in McDonald's! Driving a van looking after your own customer base doing physical and administrative work for buttons.
Pros
Company van and phone.
Cons
Wages, training, communication issues, angry customers, crazy workload

Was OK for a long time but everything then changed with what you were doing and I just had to get out of there
Service Technician (Former Employee) - Cork, County Cork - 30 April 2022
Avoid this job at all costs you have to much calls to begin with and as they are short staff you are always getting calls to pick up other people's work and then you have to catch up on your own meaning you have to work late and you don't get paid
Pros
You can use the van and phone
Cons
Too much work and you for one person

Stress free if you're organised enough
Technician (Former Employee) - Dublin, County Dublin - 13 January 2022
If you're clever, effective and organised, it is stress free job. No communication between departments and understaffed areas is an ongoing issue. Technicians get trained, grab the certification and leave for better salaries.
Pros
Van for personal use Commisions
Cons
Understaffed areas Wages not processed correctly

Bad place to work
Horrible place to work you are Constantly put under pressure from superviser to get as much calls done regardless of how well its done as I, m sure they are under pressure from management. Its all about sales sales targets not about the service provided. Customers are never happy to see you comming because of bad service they get. You are pressured to get two sales per day even though there is a sales rep which is not the technicians job.The work load and high volume of calls was inhumane. The sales rep never leaves you alone constantly calling looking for leads. I really liked the line of work as you were out on the road constantly meeting new people and I enjoyed the work challenges but way too much pressure for so little pay.I worked every hour overtime I was asked night shifts Sundays I was in the top 10 in the sales COMPETITION and when I rang the manager to hand in my notice there was no negotiation just when do you want to finish up. The high turnover of staff tells its own tale
Cons
Long hours

Extremely Stressful envoirnment
Finance (Former Employee) - Kildare - 5 November 2020
I worked with Rentokil in there finance team , most of the people you work along side are easy to get on with, although a lot of secrets are shared between people, think of it almost like a gossip club. The management genuinely are shocking, they don't have a care in the world for there staff people are regularly taken on, with there 11 month probation period and let go in the 10th or 11th month of that probation period with no reason other than "its not working out". Pay is no where near what it should be given the work loads you have to put up with, there is no team work in there they are all out for themselves, cash is allocated by what ever means necessary to help a select few as apposed to be allocated fairly and correctly. While working there I have come across various instances where the term "fraud" could be used. The systems are outdated the support is non existent, fellow staff in other departments don't care and wont help you at all even if it is required. The service is appalling therefore customers are often angry and upset, and rightly so. I would strongly advise anyone to avoid Rentokil Initial Ireland, even if it is the only job offer you get. you can and will do better. On the upside, you do get a €25 euro Dunne's voucher for Christmas, Which you can use to buy alcohol to help yourself sleep after a day working here.
Pros
1 hour lunches away from the place
Cons
No team work, No help, Constant stress

Former Administration Employee
Administration Assistant (Former Employee) - Dublin - 27 October 2020
Hand on heart the worst company I’ve ever worked for , bad management system severe lack of training , aggressive bullying behaviour of staff & as far as the treatment of customers they have no regard once they receive payment they do lot care of all the service is given . It’s a dreadful atmosphere to work in , huge turnover of staff , management blind to this problem they are too busy having meetings about meetings . DO NOT TAKE A JOB even if you are desperate , I’ve had a varied career and never write a review but this company warranted the time to warn potential employees, worked full time through this pandemic & had no management back up or empathy only phone calls to make sure we were utilising our time effectively at home plus they used the government scheme to pay us when they were trading in profit despicable!!!

Cons

Poor
Service technician (Former Employee) - Limerick office - 21 June 2020
Bad money,
I was based in the limerick division, management very unhelpful always would throw the service staff under the bus for mistakes made by management. Customers can be ratty, but due to the lack of service I wouldn't blame them
Company van a massive bonus, wages poor enough, always arguments over overtime. Sort out the management in limerick and a lot of problems would be solved
Pros
Company van
Cons
Management and one woman working in the office with a desperate opinion of her self

Terrible place to work
Service Technician (Former Employee) - Cork - 17 March 2020
Read the small print on your contract this is a horrible place to work. Supervisors telling you to do one thing and then reporting you to management for doing it. Handed in my notice worked for a month only to be told that they were taking over €800 for my training for which I’ve yet to receive my certification 2 years later
