A typical day was simply hard labour of different types repeated over and over again. I learned basic skills in manual labour and meat processing/packaging. Management varied from poor to excellent, depending on where you were and who was on duty. My co-workers were hard-working and stoic, mostly. The hardest part of the job was the hours, but I believe that was mostly because of my lack of experience at the time. The most enjoyable part of the job was meeting new people and working with them.
