Prodctive and busy.
Shaw's was a great work environment, management were always on hand to help when needed. It was busy but manageable day to day. The staff were always helpful in the period I was settling in.

Not the worst
I worked as seasonal staff in the cosmetics section. Everyone was pretty friendly and the staff were very nice and helpful. The work load was easy but I was constantly put on tills from beginning to end and would have liked the work to be evenly distributed upon all staff of equal wage. We were understaffed during December. I found out that I was no longer working there by looking at the roster and realising I had no hours the next week which left me struggling to find a new job so soon. They wouldn’t give a reference for my CV to help me look for employment in the future even though I had asked. The manager didn’t even say thanks when I was leaving, he just took my key off me and that was it. I think the main thing for me is that the managers do not appreciate how kind and helpful the staff are and staff receive no praise. It’s not the worst place to work as I was only part time. The canteen has a weird smell also and I never got a locker to put my stuff into so I was always worried about my stuff being stolen while on tills as this has happened before.

Good atmosphere to work in
Shaws is a lovely and relaxed place to work, but at times can be fast paced. Staff are friendly and helpful, really enjoyed my time there. Management were very accommodating to my needs as I had young children at the time.

Started as a Christmas temp and I can honestly say hated every minute of it. The management were nowhere to be seen except for on my first day, and I received no proper training. Supervisors were patronizing and almost all staff members are in cliques and do not want to be friendly
