Starbucks

Why Join Us

Expect more than coffee.

From the beginning, Starbucks set out to be a different kind of company. One that not only celebrated coffee but also connection. We’re a neighborhood gathering place, a part of your daily routine. Get to know us and you’ll see: we are so much more than what we brew. We call our employees partners because we are all partners in shared success. We make sure everything we do is through the lens of humanity—from our commitment to the highest-quality coffee in the world, to the way we engage with our customers and communities to do business responsibly.

OUR VALUES

With our partners, our coffee and our customers at our core, we live these values:
• Creating a culture of warmth and belonging, where everyone is welcome.
• Delivering our very best in all we do, holding ourselves accountable for results.
• Acting with courage, challenging the status quo and finding new ways to grow our company and each other.
• Being present, connecting with transparency, dignity and respect.

We are performance driven, through the lens of humanity.

A CULTURE OF INCLUSION

We're committed to upholding a culture where inclusion, diversity, equity and accessibility are valued and respected. Your entire experience—starting with your application—is designed to be the beginning of an inspirational journey, where you are treated warmly and with transparency, dignity and respect.
We actively hire individuals with disabilities and provide reasonable accommodations and assistive technologies that enable people to do their jobs. Starbucks is committed to offering reasonable accommodation for job applicants with disabilities.

Our many Partner Networks (also referred to as employee resource groups) work to create an inclusive environment across Starbucks representing the broad spectrum of our partner backgrounds.

Creating A Culture of Belonging, Inclusion and Diversity

At the heart of our business, we seek to inspire and nurture the human spirit - understanding that each person brings a distinct life experience to the table. Our partners are diverse not only in gender, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, disability, religion and age, but also in cultural backgrounds, life experiences, thoughts and ideas.

Embracing diversity only enhances our work culture, it also drives our business success. It is the inclusion of these diverse experiences and perspectives that create a culture of empowerment, one that fosters innovation, economic growth and new ideas.

  • Starbucks recognizes Mental Health Awareness Month and those who may be struggling, especially as we learn to adapt to a new normal. Mental illnesses are not uncommon: 50% of people in the U.S. will be diagnosed with mental illness or disorder in a lifetime, and 1 in 5 adults in the U.S. experience mental illness in any given year.

To our partners (employees) and customers, you aren’t alone. We are committed to supporting our partners and their mental health. Learn more about our commitment to mental health and how we want to break the stigma by clicking the link in the bio. #mentalhealth #mentalhealthawareness

  • Every person has a story, and everyone has a dream. This week we are celebrating our nearly 700 partners (employees) who chased their dreams and earned a bachelor’s degree from Arizona State University’s online program, as part of the Starbucks College Achievement Plan (SCAP). For many of our graduates, this wasn’t the ceremony they might have envisioned, but the hard work and dedication that it took to get there was very much the same. Congrats, grads!

Becoming a Starbucks partner can qualify you for SCAP and 100% tuition coverage toward a first-time bachelor’s degree through Arizona State University’s online program. • It’s embroidered into many of our green aprons, just below their name. For military spouses who we proudly call partners (employees) at our stores, having the military spouse lettering on their apron is a badge of honor, but also a reminder of their story – the duty and commitment, moving boxes, letters, video calls, long absences, joyful reunions, courage and love. In honor of Military Spouse Appreciation Day, we thank all our military spouse partners who bring incredible dedication, hard work and leadership to our stores.

In 2018, we committed to hiring 25,000 veterans and military spouses by 2025. We exceeded that goal six years ahead of schedule, and we’re not stopping. Moving forward, we aspire to hire 5,000 veterans and military spouses annually. Learn more about becoming a partner by clicking the link in the bio. #militaryspouseappreciationday
