I spent 8 months on the service desk and I am so happy I am out of that place. Manager did not have clue what she was doing. The number of calls coming in was too high for the number of people working on the desk. If you ever need a day off well you can forget about it, no chance!!. HR advertises career advancement and they "forget" to mention you have to spend at least a year on the service desk before they accept your application to move somewhere else in the company. Salary is so bad compared to the same job in other companies. It is a call centre environment with a high staff turnover
Hours - monery - management - load of calls
I worked in the Helpdesk in Waterford for 3 years and have mixed opinions. They do offer great opportunities for career advancement and development, but working conditions are not great. Tiny canteen and only 1 toilet for over 40 people, no areas to 'clear the head' as it can be a high tension work environment.Also management are there too long and are not great to be honest. They have no idea how to deal with any working complaints and are too quick to bury issues and tell you that changes are on the way.. Overall, if you are happy to settle for bad pay and a lot of false promises from management then this is the place for you..otherwise keep looking
