Working at Supervalu Clonmel was a pleasant experience. As a 'shop floor' member of staff i enjoyed my role and every member of staff was friendly and great to work with. Staff turnover was a down fall of the job. Great atmosphere in the shop.
I worked as the newspaper and magazine accounts person. When I started in 2007 it was a fantastic place to work with a great manager. unfortunately due to recession it was taken over by nama and sold on to what I can only describe as animals. Horrendous environment so unfortunately after about 15 months I had to leave because of such poor working conditions and bullying.
Since starting at Suoervalu I have been Backstore assistant which consists of...
*Delivery checking which included checking delivery drivers in, checking deliveries of, docket control.
*Opening the store for early morning delivery's to arrive.
*Temperature control on fridges and freezers in store and in stockroom.
*Restocking the shelves
Its a routine job, everyone is friendly and helps each other out when necessary.
Being a shop assistant consisted of stocking shelves, rotating product placement where date is necessary for placement, facing off products for presentation value to customers, being as polite as possible and helping customers in whatever way possible and cleaning up by brushing up and mopping the shop floor.
On the rare occasion a shop assistant may be asked to work behind the till.
My experience there was great and i would recommend this job to anyone searching for work, especially students.
Friendly co-workers, and price reduction of up to 10% on certain products.
